I heard about this place, so I stopped by while in the area. I opted for chicken tenders based on what I’ve read from other reviews. The breading was very similar to McNuggets, so I pretty much had McNugget tenders. I decided against any sauce, because I wanted to taste the chicken with its seasoning…. Which there was none. No flavor. Flavorless McNugget tenders. The pop machine was out of order, and the cooler must not have been plugged in, because everything in it was room temperature. 3/2/26

Wow, This place hasn’t changed a bit. I’ve been coming here since I was a little baby and I’m now 32 so that tells you a lot. Am I honest opinion they have the best fried chicken and gypsy and maybe even in Michigan. I’ve always loved that you can choose between original or spicy. The spicy really takes the flavor to another level. The chicken itself is actually infused with spices and different flavors. You really never need any hot sauce or anything with this type of chicken. It is just so flavorful and crispy. Now for the star of the show the gumbo and rice. It’s been a staple here for years and it’s really really good. Also, you must try their biscuits which taste unlike any others that I’ve had. Thank you to the restaurant staff and the owner for keeping a gem like this place open for so long. Especially with Covid and everything happening with prices, the fact that you guys have still cut the quality the same over all these years is actually quite amazing. This place is a must go to if you’re in Ypsilanti.

We stopped in to try something new. What a wonderful surprise!
I had crab cakes, hubby had the cod dinner. Yum! From the first bite to the last. Everything was great. I can’t wait to go back and try the chicken dinner!

The spicy chicken was a delight, fries and mac and cheese were good. Not a big fan of the mashed potatos or gizzards, but it really is about the fried chicken so I was not disappointed.
The prices were decent, the service was excellent and lots of parking. It’s not in a particularly rough strip mall as one reviewer said, it’s just a regular old strip mall on Ecorse Rd.

Man this place needs to be closed down or they need to learn how to cook chicken. I have tried over and over again to get some good chicken but they serve over cooked chicken or it’s been sitting under the heat light for hours causing it to dried out their sides should be cooked by someone who knows what they are doing I won’t ever be buying anything else from this place until they change their method of cooking and how they handle food

Food is good. I just wish that if they have all the food put up by 830p they put on here that they close at 830. Instead of me driving 30 mins to get here at 830 and everything is put up, not sold out, but put up except biscuits and chicken legs….
