Adorable little French cafe + salon with a cozy atmosphere. We sat in for coffee and croissants, both of which were amazing.
This might have been because he wasn’t busy when we arrived, but the owner — who was absolutely lovely by the way — also offered to take our coats and hung them up for us.

Some of the available drink sizes are espresso (tiny, traditional espresso size), Italian (4 oz), and American (which I believe was 8 oz).

We ordered the Caramel Arabica and the Mocha Mint, and the owner asked if I wanted cream for the Arabica. The owner then brought our drinks to our little round table, along with spoons and extra sugar, and also the syrups for our drinks which he poured on in front of us.

During the course of our time there, the owner spontaneously came back over a couple times and let us taste some apricot nectar and macarons he had imported from France.

Overall I highly recommend French House, especially if you’re looking to slow down a moment and have an experience.

The French House is a hidden gem. We were served classically prepared croissants that were nothing short of a triumph. The tea and accompanying porcelain were both lovely as well. Finally, our hosts for the experience were gracious and personable.
The space itself is small but charming – a perfect option for a morning with a loved one. There are also a number of boutique, imported goods for sale.

My friend and I decided to pop over to French House after shopping nearby. The space is small but quaint. We were there to peruse their French goods and the owner was kind enough to let us sample. Everything tasted amazing and I spent way more than I planned to. Rum soaked beignets? More please! It’s clear the owner loves what he does and is eager to share it with anyone ready to appreciate it. We already have plans to go back and try their breakfast. 🙂

Recommend this place as a fantastic spot to get your hair styled and enjoy tea and a croissant. However this is not a place if you want to eat a meal. Marketing boasts a ‘French breakfast’ which is accurate as in France folks just have 1 pastry and coffee. However if you are use to American or English breakfast, you WILL be disappointed. Atmosphere is that of a lovely hair studio and the gentleman who run the place is AMAZING!!

Came in for a glance this morning and had one of the most pleasant experiences. The owner had a nice warm conversation with me and gave me a full service cheese and wine pairing/sampling, along with a nice tour of his shop. The number of authentic French imported items was impressive. So many interesting things to try. I left with two pain au chocolat as well as some truffle salt and pear jam. Overall a lovely human interaction.

Probably the scammiest spot in Kansas City I’ve ever experienced. He charged us $65 per person for charcuterie, which consisted of crackers and meat. no cheese. Will never be coming back nor recommending this place to anyone. There are much more authentic french places around the city. Please support those instead.

UPDATE: as evidenced by the response to my review, we are seemingly the only people to have ever eaten at this establishment; take that as you will. with no menu or pricing shown anywhere in this hair salon/import store before or during your “meal”, I hope you can also come to the conclusion that this business is a scam and should be avoided at all costs (hopefully saving you $65+ per person).

This is one of the most authentic French breakfast experiences in Kansas City. They just started serving breakfast a few months ago. The service was very friendly. Everything is made in house and they also sell many French items (food, jams, soap, etc.). Highly recommended.
