Extremely clean
Parking:
There was ample parking at this restaurant.
Food appearance:
The food was presented well. I attached pictures of the food we ordered.
Food taste:
The food tasted amazing. The duck that I ordered was cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
Price:
I think the price was on a bit on the high side for some items. Look at the attached picture of the menu.
Staff:
Our waitress was new, but attended to us well.
Ambiance:
For the price you pay for food, I expected the interior to be more upper class. However, we did not get this feeling while dining here.
The only reason why I did not give this place a 5 star review is the fact that we had dirty silverware. Upon complaining about this, our waitress got us clean silverware.
We were starving, so we ordered soups to be able to wait the rest of the food and it took over THIRTY MINUTES to bring the soup, soup that is already done!! After that it took another 20 minutes to have the rest of the order (crepes) which were ordered at the same time that we ordered the soups!!! We were 4 tables in the whole place and some of them were already eating, so it wasn’t because they were busy.
It was definitely disappointing and frustrating been there. We won’t come back.
The food it’s ok, but just to think how long it would take to wait, it’s a no no for us.
Also, has signs that they have baby changing tables in both restrooms and it’s not true!
Great first impression as we were immediately greeted when we arrived and shown to a table. There was live music happening and it was very pleasant and at a level so that you could easily converse at your table without the music interfering. Besides our table, there were only four other tables with diners, so it wasn’t very busy for the couple of waiters. Our waiter was friendly but wish he had come around to check in a bit and was better about refilling our waters.
My low rating for The French Gourmet Bistro is due to my disappointment with food. One of my favorite crepes is a Caprese. Pesto, mozzarella, fresh tomato, & fresh basil. It’s perfection, I’m telling you! Well that’s exactly what was listed on the menu, so I ordered it and was all excited. It came and looked wonderful, & I took a picture. I started at one end and the crepe was nice and crisp at the edge and thin and had nice spring. The cheese was warm and somewhat melted, tomato was room temperature and I wished they had been more ripe. I didn’t taste any pesto or basil, so I went in a little deeper and took another bite, and still nothing, so I opened up the crepe to find that two of the four fillings were missing. It took a while to catch our waiter’s eye, but when I told him that the crepe was missing the basil and pesto, he quickly said he’d get it fixed. And he was quick, as moments later he returned with my original plate now decorated with cold pesto, instead of having it warm and in the crepe, and he that the Chef said that the dried parsley that came on the crepe originally, is basil. Nope, I may not be a chef, but I sure as heck know the difference between parsley and basil, thank you very much! I gave it a try and with the cold pesto squirted on top, it just wasn’t pleasant. I politely told our waiter that it was disappointing and wasn’t working for me and he removed it from the table and the bill. For dessert, our waiter highly recommend the lemon cheesecake, so I tried it, and wish I hadn’t. The only thing with any flavor was the lemon frosting. The cheesecake itself was dry and tasteless, and the crust was almost as thick as the cheesecake layer, and it too was tasteless, dry and just yuk! My decaf bombon was good, so at least a good coffee to end the evening.
