The quality of the ice cream has definitely changed. It’s cheap tasting and melts super fast (68° outside). They didn’t have cones. How can an ice cream shoppe be out of cones? The wait is ridiculous. They have multiple people preparing the ice cream, yet you still have to wait at least 10 minutes or more. The prices for their ice cream is relatively high. I will travel the extra distance to go to Luckys Dairy Bar in Virginia instead of coming back here. McDonald’s ice cream tastes better than the ice cream here. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

I admit I’m a little biased because I’ve been going since childhood. I can also confidently say the quality is supreme, staff changes every year since it is only open seasonally but they were friendly and I was served in a timely manner. One thing to note is there is not a dining area so only to go orders. I will say that the weather would play a part in choosing to go there or not since it is outdoors only with minimal awnings. To be honest it’s an excepti
onal small town ice cream station that locals anticipate it opening each season. Pricing is very reasonable as well. Just a quick good treat for beating the summer heat. ENJOY

Last night we went to Freezer Maid and they only had chocolate ice cream which was no problem. After waiting for about 20 minutes for our order there was a lady that walked up to the window ordered the same thing (chocolate because that was all they had) flirting back and forth with the man inside and received her ice cream in about 3 minutes. What happened to first come first served. 1 stars is for customer service. It has really gone down hill. Not sure if it is still under the same manager or not. Don’t think I will be back.
