Freewheel Pizza closed indefinitely, what happened? – Facebook

So upsetting. I heard from Roadhouse 22 that the owner got a job offer he couldn’t turn down and Flywheel was more of a side gig for him.

The location is quite tucked away among the businesses. You’ll need to navigate around to the back until you reach the order and pickup window. It’s advisable to place your order online, and they offer various payment options. There’s minimal marketing, just a modest pizza sign by the entrance. The staff is friendly and helpful, eager to provide recommendations. The pizzas are freshly made on-site and baked in their oven. We tried the Figgy Piggy, which was surprisingly not too greasy and tasted delicious, especially with the arugula topping. However, at $38, it may seem slightly overpriced, but quality comes at a cost. Despite the long pickup queue, indicating high demand, the quality is definitely worth it.

Oh yes! It is all that. In the strip with Safeway, Starbucks and Little Caesars, tucked in the alley that runs behind it all, is Freewheel Pizza. Order online, arrive at their door with a window and await your gourmet pizza. I added the Japanese Shishito peppers to the Big Popper. It was definitely a giant spicy pizza. My only wish was more of the honey to counter the kick, but I can imagine adding honey to a different pizza next try.

Fantastic pizza. I tried the Peppers & Roni and loved everything about it, I can’t wait to try some of the other pizzas they offer. This has gotta be one of the best hole in the wall finds I’ve come across. Do yourself a favor and get your orders in you won’t regret it.

Really good pizzas, like REALLY good. The location is a little tricky as it’s behind where you think it would be. Once you know, it’s fine for the next time.

I grew up on east coast, so I’m a fan of a good thin crust. I’ve been mostly underwhelmed with pizza since moving to Bay Area 20 years ago, with a few exceptions. I can’t say how excited I am that Freewheel pizza is in my neighborhood! I only recently heard about it and tried it last night. The crust was perfect and the toppings are high quality. My favorite pizza in the east bay, maybe even in entire Bay Area.

Best Pizza I’ve found yet this side of the Bay.

Absolutely massive and the toppings are high quality. Driving down the alley behind the shopping center and pulling up to their window is a unique experience, that’s for sure.

Going to be my go-to pizza going forward.

Best. Pizza. Ever. The location (an alley with no front door). The hours. 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. It’s like picking up your pizza from a forbidden speakeasy. I love it! You can’t add a tip if you pay with a card so remember to bring cash with you!

Absolutely off the charts. Just thinking about this place makes my stomach happy. I’m addicted to the Figgy Piggy. The crust is a sourdough and super yummy, even on day 2. Fresh ingredients and the combination of cheese makes for the perfect pie. The service is also superb every single time. I love this place.
