I like free birds but ordering the monster and regular size is the same amount of meat with just more rice and the tortilla isn’t any bigger it’s just hard to eat. It’s really not worth it. Better to get this food in person also because on a delivery app the quality goes way down. Not just because it’s colder, that’s to be expected, you’re just not around so they throw everything in the tortilla haphazardly… I tried to even out the portions after 3 bites of rice.

The black beans were way undercooked in my burrito and in the bowl my wife got. Some were like peanuts I swear it’s crazy. Idk if they let employees taste the food but we tried to pic them out as best we could.

We’ve been longtime Freebirds fans and really want this location to succeed. The staff was friendly, and the manager went out of his way to cut fresh cilantro for us (after 2 other employees went to the back and said they were out), which we appreciated.

That said, our visit had several operational and cleanliness issues that were concerning. Some food on the line looked dried out or old, and there was spilled food left on the counter that wasn’t cleaned between orders.

For example, the employee preparing a burrito for the guest in front of us rolled it, unrolled it, and then gave it a firm smack on the counter, which caused part of the filling to spill out onto the prep surface. The mess that was left was then wrapped anyway. Fortunately, the customer asked for it to be remade and received a fresh one. However, the spilled food remained on the counter and was not wiped down before additional burritos (including ours) were rolled up on that same surface. We were handed foil with gunk all over it!

The tea station was out of order, and we weren’t informed before purchasing a drink. I bought the almost $3 cup for iced tea.

I do want to note that the young woman assisting us was very sweet, professional, and patient throughout the experience. I believe she said her name was Vanilla. She seemed to be doing her best in a challenging environment and handling situations that pointed more toward training and management gaps than individual effort.

I’m leaving 4 stars because the employees were kind and trying, but this location would really benefit from stronger leadership, better training, and more consistent attention to cleanliness and food handling.

As soon as I walked in Greeted by the Awesome smell of burritos and delicious food. The employees were happy and having a good time they greeted me and helped me get my order. I placed online. The food was delicious as usual. This is my Friday go to for a late lunch.

I used to be a very big fan of Free birds… Unfortunately I have noticed a trend in the shrinking of the size of the burritos. I went in on Tuesday December 16th 2025 at around 6:00 p.m. The place was completely dead. There were four or five people behind the counter, but nobody seemed to be bothered by the fact that there were two customers standing at the counter. There is an employee who was rushing around doing what I assume was online orders despite the fact that there was nobody waiting for anything in the restaurant. A young woman came up to the station and asked me what I wanted and I told her a chicken burrito, she then proceeded to do a half of a scoop of rice onto the tortilla and then asked me what kind of beans. I requested a new person to do my food because I’ve seen this happen before and I did not feel like getting a quarter of a burrito like I have gotten in previous visits and the young man who was doing the online orders came over after the young woman took the tray and stormed off to presumably go talk to the manager. The young man made my burrito and it was great! The young woman came out from wherever she went and then proceeded to make my girlfriend’s burrito. I noticed that she was continuing to half scoop everything and I told my girlfriend that she should request a different person, but she didn’t want to make a fuss. I tried to let a manager or what appeared to be a manager who was working in the lobby know that she was giving half scoops, particularly since it looked like whomever was the leader or manager behind the counter was going to yell at the young man that helped me because while the young man was ringing me up the manager called back ” when you’re done there I need to talk to you real quick “. All in all, I used to really love this particular restaurant, but now it just seems like they’re getting smaller and smaller in their burritos unless you specifically call them out, and unfortunately management then seems to be punishing employees that are actually providing the correct amount of food that you’re paying for. These burritos are not inexpensive, and half scoops of rice and half scoops of everything else is just ridiculous. I took a picture of my girlfriend’s burrito compared to my own once we got home and you can see that her burrito is clearly much smaller than my own. In addition, we had ordered cookies and brownies and the brownie was completely raw on the inside. Again I have no idea what they’re doing or why, one employee told me that the girl who was doing half scoops was new, so I’m not sure why there wasn’t a manager there observing her and correcting her scooping technique .

I usually only eat at restaurants with great reviews, so honestly, seeing the 2.5 stars on Yelp always made me hesitant to try this place. My husband convinced me to give it a shot by downloading the app so we could try it without worrying about wasting money and I’m so glad we did!
The burritos were delicious. They don’t compare to Chipotle burritos—not because anything is wrong with them, but because they’re in their own lane. The only similarity is that both places sell burritos; flavor-wise, they’re completely different yet equally delicious.
I will definitely be back!

Daniella at Freebirds absolutely made my day.
I stopped in after a 3-hour drive on my way to San Antonio, and from the moment she helped me, her energy was warm, kind, and welcoming. She took my order, checked me out, and then came back with a red rose to gift me, just because.

That was genuinely one of the kindest gestures I’ve experienced all month. She deserves recognition and praise. Freebirds is lucky to have her!

This is not the same Freebirds I remember. Not sure itsbthe location or not (1st and only visit to this location). We ordered 2 large bowls, one steak and other steak and chicken. The food was cold (we are a 10 min drive home) and SO salty, it was inedible. It tasted like they poured the entire salt container in food (think it was pepper mixture but couldnt tell). We had to ask 3x for creamy jalepeno sauce. The girl taking our order said “you weren’t gonna let me forget that sauce huh”?. And then kept asking us to rate them, they got prizes or something like that. Worst service and food from Freebirds We’ve ever had. Will not be back to this location.
