I finally tried Fred 62 after driving by it so many times, and I’m glad I did. It’s a cute little diner with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They’re open well past midnight, which is always a plus.

I loved the vibe–the car-style booths and the hip hop playing in the back gave it a fun, lively feel. Just a cool spot to end the night. Seated right away and greeted by a friendly + attentive waiter.

The coffee was a bit mediocre and watered down, but the food portions were solid and priced fairly. We tried the chicken tenders, a salad, and the cheeseburger–everything was okay. Happy to finally cross this place off my list.

We had total comfort food when we dined here — and there is a vegetarian section, and a vegan section — plus desserts.
Clean and old school charm, A-rating (health dept., when we dined there).
Close to neighborhoods, the observatory, the Greek Theater, and more.
Parking on the street can be hit-or-miss depending on the day/time – but we were able to easily park close.
The staff are super nice here – we definitely were treated well.
We’ll be stopping by Fred’s whenever we’re in the area!!

Today we went with our large group of 13 people after hiking for breakfast to Fred 62. Our experience was superb & out of this world, everything from setting us up with a nice table to taking our orders quickly & serving us right away. We really couldn’t have asked for better service or more delicious food. It is so refreshing in a world that good food & service is so rare to get swept off of our feet. We all said we will go back because our experience was so pleasant! We are grateful.

Pretty good food, a bit pricey for what it was, but understandable for the area. What really stood out to me was the service. My server Jose Luis was wonderful, extremely attentive and kind. The place is clean and cute, with that traditional diner aesthetic.

Nice little hangout, lots of locals. Lots of food options, but limited beer options. The pop tarts are homemade and a good treat. All day breakfast if you don’t want a heavy meal.

Read before you go I am being honest with this review, I give honest reviews for other people to know before they go. We went on August 30, 2025. I give it two stars and let me explain why. First, $30 for a kids meal that is two small pieces of chicken strips with shoe string fries, the fries was generous, it was a lot but very thin fries, the chicken strips was a disgraced, small strips and didn’t taste that good and we ordered the Buttermilk pancakes which was 3 pieces of pancakes that had only a little bit of powdered sugar on top and pancakes was not that good, and a drink which was not even a big glass and it had a lot of ice meaning a little amount of soda with a lot of ice in a glass, all of that for $30. Waited long for our food. Over priced for a kids meal and 3 pieces of pancakes in a plate with a drink. Guy that took our order was nice but lady, with black hair that gave us our order not friendly. Place was too loud and too dark, if you are sensitive to sound it’s not a good place. Didn’t try to order other things as it was over priced and place was just too loud, music was too loud too dark not enough light. It felt stuffy inside. It just felt chaotic. Not a place where you can enjoy your meal. I am not a hater just an honest reviewer hoping owner would sit down on his or her own restaurant and try to see if he or she would enjoy his/her over priced meal with very loud music.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here with the whole family on vacation. Couldn’t believe how speedy the service was with the healthy portions. Highly recommend the fried mac ‘n’ cheese balls for a starter. The turkey meatloaf had this nice glaze atop the crisped top. The Thanksgiving dinner special looked fantastic and filling. Really appreciated the friendly service. And I’ll note their corking fee was only $10, so bring a bottle!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fred 62! The Shakshuka eggs were perfectly seasoned and had just the right amount of spice—an excellent start to the meal. The French toast was heavenly—soft, fluffy, and with just the right touch of sweetness. And don’t even get me started on the strawberry shake—it was rich, creamy, and tasted like pure nostalgia.

The diner itself has such a cool and cozy vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Whether you’re looking for comfort food or something trendy with a twist, Fred 62 hits the mark. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu. Highly recommend!

Been going here since like 2002. One of my favorite 24hr spots in LA for sure. The stories I have of this place are epic. The food is bomb and definitely worth checking it out if you haven’t before. Here’s a pic from like 2004ish… Lark, Alex,Me and Celeste.. ❤️

I can’t believe I’ve never been here! It’s definitely such a warm and lovely space with incredible food! I was so happy to see such a huge vegetarian/vegan section of the menu and I got the impossible sloppy Joe which was AMAZING! The food came out so quickly and was piping hot. They have such fun and exciting menu options and I am so excited to come back. Their pie was perfect and I had the best experience here – thank you so much!
