We were visiting Charleston, South Carolina, and for lunch, we visited Fratello’s Italian Tavern. We managed to find roadside parking just a short distance away from the restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant, we were surprised to find that it was completely empty, with no other customers present.
We got our table and Nicole, our server, brought us the menus. After talking with her, we decided on the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and the Pollo con Pepe.
Since the restaurant was pretty empty for lunch on the weekend, we were a little unsure about the food. While we were waiting for our order, the server brought us our bread and butter.
The bread and butter was really good, and it was a great start to our lunch. Soon, our plates arrived, which had pasta and a sandwich.
We started with pasta and it was delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce was creamy and smooth. My toddler also loved it. It was a great way to start our lunch.
We also had the Pollo Con Pepe, which is our chicken sandwich. Everyone in our group loved it! The bread was fresh, and the chicken was well-seasoned and just the right amount of crunch.
Fratello’s Italian Tavern was a great place for lunch.

Fratello’s is an unpretentious, delicious Italian restaurant. The handcrafted, meticulously detailed wooden bar is a sight to behold. The food is superb. The atmosphere, wonderful. All of the staff is friendly and engaging — but not overly engaging. I’ve lived within a mile of it for more than six months but hadn’t yet tried it. I’m glad I did tonight.

I needed a good meal after a long work day and decided to give this place a try. I’m still new to Charleston and haven’t been a ton of places yet, and I was very happy I stopped by here tonight! I sat at the bar and the bartender Caroline was phenomenal! She was attentive, she explained the specials in perfect detail, she makes a fantastic old fashioned, and all around made the experience great! The food was fresh and delicious, and the portion was huge! I will definitely be coming back!

We stopped by Fratellos Italian Tavern for lunch and had an excellent experience! We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside. For our main dishes, we had the Pollo alla Parmigiana and the Pollo con Pepe sandwiches. Both were outstanding! The bread was fresh and had just the right amount of crunch, while the chicken was crispy and well-seasoned. The toppings were flavorful and balanced everything beautifully. The service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor atmosphere was warm and sunny. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their lunch entrees.

Cozy, leisurely luncheon on a rainy day to celebrate a birthday. Four of us shared the appetizer platter. The pasta special was delicious.

ALL the staff were very nice and SO friendly they made us feel like family! The food prepared by chef Kevin was outstanding and the portion size was generous!! Our server Nicole was very helpful with the gluten-free recommendations. She was friendly, knowledgeable and didn’t hover over us yet, was there whenever we needed a drink refil, to pick up extra dishes or to just check-in to see if there was anything we needed. Chef Kevin visited our table and made us feel so welcome. The atmosphere is casual, cozy and relaxed. The lasagna was excellent and very filling. We also recommend the Fra Diavalo di Marc and the Shrimp a la Romano Pomodoro.

Wow, bloody wow…
Stumbled into this place yesterday during rockabillaque. What an amazing experience. The food is incredible. Had this roasted chicken dish that was a cross between Greek & Italian that had so many ingredients in it. Absolutely delicious. The service was top notch. They treat you like family here. Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Always love it when I leave a restaurant with a circus in my mouth. 3 Thumbs up and 5 stars from the Mrs. & I.

Every meal I’ve ever had for dine or take out at Fratellos has been excellent. I really enjoy cooking authentic Italian food that I was taught to cook by my own family, and Fratellos is the one and only place in the area where you can get authentic, fresh, classic Italian dishes like your Nonna would make. Their sauce, eggplant, seasonal ravioli, and salads are personal favorites. I always make sure to take family and friends when they are visiting.
