I came back the following week when I came back to town and had the complete opposite experience. We walked in and it wasn’t nearly as busy, but there was no tables. I asked one of the ladies (different person) working if she knew how long it would be. Her response? She looked around, looked at us, and LAUGHED before saying, “How would i know?”
So, guess we don’t need to visit this place again. Great wings tho.
A little later, the waitress brings my plate and announces “medium-well.” I immediately say “no,” thinking she’s got the wrong table. Instead of clarifying, she goes over to the bartender, clearly irritated, and says, “She said medium,” then just walks away.
A few minutes pass. She eventually comes back to apologize for the wait and tells me my food will be right out. The second steak arrives… and it’s again medium-well. I cut into it from every angle—no question, it’s overcooked. At this point, I’m frustrated and done with the back-and-forth. I take a few bites just to get something in me, deciding to deal with it as “protein is protein.”
That’s when the bartender checks in. He asks how it is, and I admit, “Since you asked…it’s medium-well .” Without hesitation—before I can even shine my flashlight on the plate to prove it—he confirms and immediately takes it back.
Now I’m waiting for a third steak, and the tension in the room is thick. Finally, they bring it out and it’s perfect. Literally perfect. Cooked exactly how I wanted. I get to enjoy it in peace—but only because of the bartender. While he’s on break, the waitress completely ignores me: no water check, no follow-up, nothing. When the bartender returns, though, he picks right back up with his great service.
Bottom line: the bartender was consistently dope and truly saved the night, but the overall experience was deeply disappointing.
