I originally went next door. I’ve learned over the years the corner stores have better food for better prices than regular restaurants in new orleans. I decided to see if that theory held true here.

I ordered a fish and shrimp poboy which costs more than either alone. In my mind this meant a fish poboy with some shrimp added. Instead it is half and half. Meaning less expensive to make than a full hrimp poboy but you still pay extra. This left me a little grumpy. Which is why decided to prove said point.
Frankies is cheaper for more food. I do regret not taking an updated menu picture, but I believe you can pretty add a dollar to everything from the one taken 3 years ago. Still beats Da’pearl.
I like seafood and don’t get down here much so I decided to walk here and order a fish poboy here as well. The food in the box is from the gas station while the food in the paper is from Da’Pearl. I took a piece of fish off of half of the sandwich from the gas station to show the size difference. Da’pearl is a 10″ to begin with while the Frankies is 12″.
The only thing Da’pearl has is selection, they do have more seafood, but to be fair the station is a chicken place that also has seafood.

Stopped while passing through the area and had time to kill. Had a place I could park my semi until my delivery. Had a spicy sausage, egg, and cheese croissant for breakfast, then lunch got a roast beef poboy. The food was spot on. Would stop again.

If you use a card to pay at this place you better check your statements. The owners son charged my card twice for $172.80 in fuel then told me I was wrong and to take it up with my bank. Never even apologized for the mistake. Very rude and unwilling to even address the situation. Plus their chicken was dry and bout hurt my teeth to chew it. Needless to say I won’t be back.

If this place goes out of business one day – u can believe the evening clerk probably had a big part in it. She is so extremely rude, that I find it impossible that it’s just me every time. (& I go in multiple times a week). There hasn’t been 1 occasion that she hasn’t been on the phone (usually yelling at someone) or that I’ve seen her friendly. No hello, no thank you, no come again… none of that – just eye rolls & a terrible attitude. Tonight she told “IIIM ON THE PHONE W MY DAUGH. HER! When I asked a question. I’m sorry- u were ringing me up & I didn’t see the phone to your ear— silly me to say anything. I should’ve walked out but instead finished my transaction & will not going back in the evening. The owner on the other hand is amazing. I hate to see his business get destroyed with workers like her.

Food is some of the best around.. especially the Philly cheese steak.. Owner is awesome, the kitchen ladies are freaking amazing but the new girl, who has been there for a month, is RUDE as hell. Doesn’t say, hi, doesn’t say, can I help u, doesn’t say, thank u. Wanted to give this a lower score but owner is too amazing to do that too.
