Friendly staff from the moment we walked in the door. The homemade chips & salsa immediately told me I’m in for a real treat! The food was excellent. Since I was new to the restaurant, I ordered the combination plate & my wife ordered the soft shell tacos. Super flavors & the sopapillas that came with the combination plate were homemade and delicious.

This is a “hidden gem” !! I am letting visitors to Scottsdale in on the secret …
Situated right smack in the middle of “old town” Scottsdale, this Mexican Restaurant has its own parking ( hard to
come by on Scottsdale) andthe warmest friendliest waiters of all time !!
But perhaps more important to you if you are looking for tasty authentic Mexican Food is the quality of their food !!! Oh my gosh !!! Heaven to a Canadian who only has Taco Bell to compare it to!! The food here makes my mouth water all the way from Canada !!
I start imagining the complimentary chips and salsa before I even board the plane . Their entree’s ( incredibly priced ) and absolutely yummy!! We really enjoy everything about Frank and Lupe’.

Nothing angers me more than dishonesty… this place is lowest of the low… they have a menu outside the front door, easy to read proclaiming a happy hour with 50% off appetizers, $4.50 beer, $20 margarita pitcher and $8 large margarita. We shopped for an hour and came back for the happy hour… we were seated and handed a menu with 20% off appetizers, $5 beers, a $12 large margarita and no price for a pitcher – we were told by the waiter it’s $30 for a pitcher during happy hour. I brought this up to the waiter and he claimed he has repeatedly told the owner to change it but he hasn’t yet… look at the photos you can see they whited out prices and changed them. We had a beer each and left. Just be honest and admit you are shady! Hope this place goes out of business!

We just started to do an annual spring training trip, and this has been a go-to spot for us. Love the patio seating. Food is fantastic. The Queso Bean dip with Chorizo is the best I’ve had. The steak fajitas were plenty. Big portions and great pricing.

Was here with my buddy from back home in St. Louis joined by our Scottsdale host. Our local host hadn’t been here before and was excited to visit.
We opted to eat on the patio out back. The wind was fairly strong that night and the design of the patio area was essentially a wind tunnel. Beyond that the space was very fun.
Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Kept up with drinks and helped us make our meal decisions. Our food was super yummy and I’d gladly return.

Based on other reviews, we knew we would enjoy this authentic experience. The food and service were excellent. We had the poblano cream chicken enchiladas and the chicken mole enchiladas and highly recommend both. The chips & salsa and margaritas are both great as well.
The bathrooms are on their property but outside of the restaurant which isn’t super ideal.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Phoenix!! The restaurant has a fun, authentic feel. It’s an old town classic. Would highly recommend sitting on the back patio. Service can be slower but the food is always great. They often forget to bring the included Sopapillas, so you have to ask for them. Would highly recommend the mini fried chimichangas and combo platter!

Overall, it was a great experience for authentic Mexican food, atmosphere, and service. Had our lunch on the patio, nothing fancy, but enjoyed the sunshine and the birds chirping! They have private parking too, which is a bonus.

So happy we came across Frank & Lupe’s. The atmosphere and food here are outstanding! Given the Old Town Scottsdale location, this is a very good place for budget/reasonably-priced Mexican food.
I had the number one combo (which consists of a taco, tamale, enchilada and sopaipillas!) and house margarita during my visit – they were incredibly good.
If you have the time to wait and it is nice outside I would highly recommended the outdoor patio area, which must be entered outside via the back parking lot (there is no access from the indoors portion of the restaurant). We had to wait about 30 minutes during lunch time but it was well worth the wait!
Parking was unexpectedly easy. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant, but otherwise it can be easy to find on street parking for free (depending on the day of course).

Amazing food! So glad we found this place. The queso dip with chorizo was the best queso I’ve ever had, I had the blue flautas it came with 3 topped with guac, salsa and pico and honestly we put some of the queso on the food as well and it was great
We ate in the patio area and it was so nice love the decorations and atmosphere
