Service was great, the gentleman really took care of us even to helping us cut the crab into smaller portions. We didn’t come at a busy time, no rush. Very chill. Great view of course and the restaurant being at that location is bond to cost more. But the food didn’t really live up to the hype. The veggies were not fresh, and the crab was very expensive, with the herb and sauce over powering the crab taste. The mixed drink that the host recommended was very strong despite we asking for something not too strong. Crab cake was decent, a little salty and. It allowed for the crab flavor to come.

I spent the afternoon here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. She wanted seafood with a view and we accomplished that. The atmosphere was amazing, we felt casual with a touch of class. The views were amazing, staff and service was exceptional. The sea bass was cooked just right and the vegetables added just the right amount of complimentary flavors. My wife truly enjoyed her dish, the only complaint was having to use her hands for the crab but I got a kick out of it!!! The cheesecake with the raspberry drizzle and ice cream was definitely the icing on the cake!!! Will definitely be back!!!

Great view in a great location! Definitely pricey and the crab was okay. Started with house salad while hubs enjoyed the chowder and we shared 2lbs of crab which was a bit dry. Very good service though!

After catching up on some of my Google reviews, I realized that I never rated/commented on this restaurant so unfortunately, this is an extremely late post. My family and I visited this restaurant while we were in town sightseeing and in anticipation of watching our team play (and win) against the “Oakland” Raiders. Needless to say, we had a great time visiting the bay area and this restaurant was a major contributor to that experience (we still talk about to this day). We currently live in Las Vegas so visiting a restaurant right next to the ocean is always an appreciated experience.

Service was good, not great (had to ask for refills, the check and tell when we were ready to place our orders, etc).

Enjoyed a visit to the Franciscan Crab Restaurant with a group on a recent trip to the Bay Area. Food was all very tasty (including the calamari, crab and spinach fondue, and crab fettuccini) but is priced at a premium due to the location. Well worth a visit once though to take in the sunset and views of Alcatraz!

We come here for the view. You can see Alcatraz right from your table. The fish here has always been fresh. The best time to visit would be 2pm-3:30pm to avoid the dinner crowd.

If you love seafood like I do the Franciscan Crab Restaurant is definitely worth visiting. We arrived right at opening time… The hostess seated us promptly. The first thing we got was a Bread Bowl Clam Chowder. The bread was warm and fresh and the soup was without equal. The view of San Francisco Bay is spectacular. Finally our main course came. We ordered Crab, Shrimp, and Mussels combo. I can not overstate how impressed I was with the food.

Outstanding views, tasty seafood and ok service. We went here for a birthday dinner and had indicated that in our online reservation. No one asked if we were celebrating anything and the birthday was not acknowledged at any time during our visit. In addition, the carpet was vacuumed near us during our meal, which took away from the ambiance. However the view was spectacular and the food was good and came out quickly. We started with the crab fondue (which was very thick, like pizza cheese) followed by a Lotsa crab, medium mussel/shrimp, bread (not complimentary) and fish and chips (sweet potato bites). Dessert was a shared chocolate mousse cake.

I have never had “Fishy Crab” before, this place was pricey and terrible. I don’t mind paying good money for good food, but this place was not up to par. The Crab was not cooked through consistently, some parts were overcooked and dry others were cold and had a bad fishy taste to it. It literally felt like I was biting into a cold fish from the market. I would not recommend this place to anyone, sorry but I even threw up after this meal, it didn’t sit well.
