This restaurant serves a variety of specialities from Uruguay and also some international dishes. We came on a very quiet Sunday afternoon, but the restaurant was quite busy and had a vibrant atmosphere. The service was outstanding until the last moment we left -the ladies are cordial, advising you in the right manner which dish to pick and available throughout with attention and care. It makes you feel well and cozy and not wanting to leave.
The dishes we tried were tasty, freshly prepared and a delight. A recommendation are the filled Gnocchi -very delicious.
This is a great place to enjoy a meal in a casual yet elegant space. With friends, family or for couples. Wonderful place.

My wife and I recently visited Francis for a date night, and we were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The warm welcome, the attentive service (with English-speaking waiters!), and the overall ambiance immediately set the stage for a lovely evening.
One thing that really stood out was the use of technology to enhance the dining experience. We were given a tablet alongside the regular menu, which allowed us to see photos of each dish before ordering. This was incredibly helpful and made our choices that much easier.
We started with a refreshing 1.5-liter pitcher of sangria, accompanied by complimentary bread and two delicious dips. Our appetizers, the four-cheese croquettes and the pumpkin, orange, and ginger soup, were both bursting with flavor. The croquettes were perfectly crispy, and the soup was a delightful blend of sweet and savory.
For our main course, we shared a chicken breast that was expertly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection.
To satisfy our sweet cravings, we indulged in an almond pudding with ice cream and a chocolate shot, as well as a classic affogato. Both desserts were a delightful end to our meal.
While Francis is a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the charming atmosphere make it well worth the splurge. We highly recommend Francis for a special occasion or a romantic night out.

Great place! My favorite in Montevideo! The catch of the day, sea bass, was very tasty and came with a really nice “crunchy risotto” and vegetable medley (not actually a ratatouille as listed on the menu). The waitress, Carla, was absolutely the best and super sweet! She really took care of me. They also had a nice amuse bouche of some chicken pate and hummus. Great location and pleasant interior.

Great restaurant. The table service of chicken liver pate and hummus was sensational. The paella, delicious. Sorry, but no room for dessert. The wine was very tasty, and a big pour! Service by Max was flawless. A truly wonderful evening. If we were here for longer, we would definitely make a return visit.

We ended up there because it was the only place with a table available. When I got in I could see it was a sophisticated place. We shared the plates and it was good. We ordered a tortilla with mushrooms, it was delicious. For main course we shared a 550 grms chuleton and a chorizo, it was more than enough. My friend who lives here noticed that the wine was expensive. We ordered an average Tanat that costs pretty cheap at the supermarket and to be honest it was delicious. Desert was divine, some warm cake with ice cream, banana and dulce de leche. I will be honest, it wasn’t cheap. The place was full and service was quite slow, it took almost 30 minutes to have desert at almost 11pm, and the place was still very busy with people eating.
