Best Italian food around and as good as you can get anywhere. Food stands toe to toe with the best Italian restaurants in New York and Boston. The owners work in the restaurant and are fantastically gracious. The interior is intimate, upscale, but not pretentious. There is limited table availability, but that’s how they keep the food good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

So disappointing! Never get take out. First time we ordered we got home and my sons burger was so burnt he could not eat it. We called them & was put on hold and that was that. Kept us on hold what seemed like forever. We decided to give it one more shot and ordered again. The food tasted sour almost rancid. We decided to personally go there and the young lady at the front was so rude. I have heard their food is great if you eat there. Just don’t get take out that’s where they give you low quality disgusting scraps.

Best place for miles around–small, intimate and genuinely Italian food. Decent wines at reasonable prices, a personable staff and a chef who knows the art of preparing dishes to please a variety of palates. We enjoy going there with small groups of up to six and have recently discovered that their take-out pizza is good enough to make the drive from anywhere within a 30-minute distance worthwhile. Make a reservation–otherwise you might have to wait and there is no bar/no alternative seating area to speak of.

With good reviews from friends, my wife and I checked out this restaurant. After seeing the prices on the menu and hearing of daily made-in-house pasta, our expectations were set. Unfortunately both of our pasta dishes were undercooked and the service took about twice as long as it should have. The only redeeming factor was the food quantity and that after reheating it was finally cooked all the way through. The dishes were a signature lasagna and eggplant rollotini. Hilltop would be a better choice in our opinion.

My wife and I tried this place once, mostly due to its claim to have won an award as the best Italian restaurant in Connecticut. Food was mediocre at best, the “marinara sauce” tasted like they dumped a can of tomato sauce in my pasta – absolutely no flavor or seasoning. Additionally, the host and staff were rude to me. My in-laws visited separately as well, and had the same experience. Go to Dimitri’s up the road or just make your own Italian.

Cozy but wasn’t very busy on a Tuesday. Birthday celebration. Upscale service and the best salad, stuffed mushrooms and lobster ravioli. Absolutely best meal that I can remember. Owners personable and enjoyed their conversation. ☆☆☆☆☆

Authentic, delicious, made with care. I’ve tried several dishes on the large menu, and all of them have exceeded expectations. Everything is fresh and tastes hand made, just like I’ve had in Italy. The bruschetta and limoncello gnocchi are my favorites. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming. We will be back!

A nice cozy bistro with excellent, ample plates, good service and a decent, mostly Italian wine list. We went there at the strong recommendation of a co-worker (a local). I recommend reservations as it is a pretty small place.

Went twice. First visit- completely empty and they didn’t have veal or scallops…kind of staples for an Italian restaurant. Our dishes we begrudgingly chose were just ok. Second time, was better…but I got salad which is hard to mess up. My in-laws raved about their dishes. Same waitress both times, she is a doll. The gentleman running the joint walked around like someone pissed in his Cheerios…not the best impression for a customer-oriented business. Needless to say, I will try it one more time because it’s around the corner, I like the ambiance, and pickings are slim for restaurants in Coventry.

So what kind of Italian restaurant runs out of pizza on a Sunday night at 6pm? After being open for only two and a half hours. This is the second time this happened and I’m very very discouraged.
