They are the undisputed best food on the mountain. Everything is made in an open kitchen and is all fresh and delicious. They have the best baby back ribs of anywhere I’ve ever visited. The food was so good that we had to go two nights in a row during our stay. Sandy who works the bar and also the high top tables is a top tier gent! He loves his job and cares about the patrons.

Foxfire Grill – Snowshoe, WV
Visited in August with family and our dog while in Snowshoe, WV.
Foxfire has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, which was a big plus. The setting is lovely — Snowshoe Plaza had a car show that day, and the surrounding area is worth exploring. In winter this is a ski hub, but in summer it’s still a great spot to visit.
We waited about 20 minutes for a table, and the food took at least 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with baked beans and sweet potato fries (sharing with someone else).
The good: The baked beans were fantastic, and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Most of the food tasted great overall.
The bad: The ribs were completely blackened and burnt throughout — not just a little char, but fully charred. I’ve attached a photo for reference. Burnt food not only ruins the flavor, but it’s a sign of poor execution and attention to detail, and over time it can be unhealthy.
Overall, the location is great, the service was decent, and most of the food was solid. Unfortunately, the ribs knocked this experience down for me — enough to take off two stars. Hopefully next time the kitchen cleans up their act.

This was my first visit to snowshoe and I’m glad I stopped by this restaurant for lunch. I had the steak salad and loved it. The vinaigrette was delicious and the steak was tender and cooked exactly as I ordered. Service was very quick. Our server Tom was friendly and attentive, recommending nearby activities.

Exceptional service – even with the aisles overflowing with obnoxious posers yelling for attention. French dip was PERFECTION. The bread felt, smelled and tasted as if it just came out of a French baker’s oven moments earlier. The beef was perfectly seasoned and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The au jus complimented the sandwich brilliantly ( not overly salty – as with many similar commercial recipes). I had the potato salad as a side. I’d highly recommend you select any other available option. Also bring ear plugs. (Remember the loud mouthed, drunk posers? They seemed to crawl out from under any loose rug.)

Food was cooked perfectly. First night I got the chicken fried steak and honestly was probably the best chicken fried steak I’ve ever had. Mashed potatoes and the vegetables were also cooked perfectly. My daughter got the BBQ salmon. Second night I had the pot roast and she had the BBQ pork shank. Both were very tasty and fork tender.
Had to wait 15 minutes for a table first night around 6pm. Second night got there at 5pm and was seated right away.
I’m surprised to see 3.8 out of 5 stars because our meals were really good.

Absolutely AMAZING!!! The food was great, I got the Mac N Cheese and a side salad and it was sooooo good. My wife had the pork and she loved it!!! And the best part was the AMAZING SERVICE. Our servers name was Tommy and was on top of it!!! He was constantly refilling and checking on us! He was very personable and will definitely ask for him when we come back!

The $16 buffalo chicken dip would have been satisfying had it not been half empty when it arrived. Be prepared for the prices / servings here. This is not exclusive to this restaurant.

Majorly disappointed in this place. I came in after a long day of skiing and ordered a 65$ 20 oz ribeye rare that came out well done and barely warm. I had them cook a new one and it came out refrigerater cold with hard congealed fat in the middle. At that point my group was done eating and and we needed to leave. they tried to just give me 10$ off than finally took of $20 when I complained. The servers was great but I wouldn’t eat here again

Foxfire is by far the best restaurant on the mountain. We have owned condos at Snowshoe and come up every year for the past 27 years. Best food and best service by far. We typically eat here at least 2 times on our trip. I highly recommend the Hot Apple Pie (drink), Fried Pickles (secret menu) and Hunk ‘O Hunk Burger (secret menu – bacon cheese burger with their amazing bbq on top!!). You will not be disappointed! Everyone loves this restaurant, so plan to get there early before the rush. Tip: All people in your group must be present to be seated!
