We had a great first-time visit and it will not be our last. Great turnip greens, creamy Mac & cheese, and sweet potato casserole! Very good baked beans, too. If you order a Smashburger and steak fries, you had better be hungry. “First base” hot sauce is plenty spicy on both chicken and fish. Friendly folks, good food, and accessible location. Wonderful local diner experience.

Food is amazing! Can be very spicy so order with caution. I got the 2nd base which says medium and it’s definitely spicy perfect on the chicken tenders. Baked beans are the best I’ve ever had. Turnip greens had great flavor as well. Overall great food!

Food was amazing! I ate the cinnamon & honey tenders w/ no heat and sweet potato and fried okra as the sides. My wife ate the deluxe burger and fries and spaghetti. Very nice employees! Very good portions as well. They even brought out some fish for us to try which was really good!

Tried Foul Play Hot Chicken in Nashville and it definitely lived up to the hype. The mild heat level was perfect — flavorful with just the right kick. I grabbed the leg quarter meal, and both sides were fire: the baked beans were sweet and smoky, and the mac was creamy and on point. And the strawberry lemonade? Bussing.

My husband and I were in the Gallatin area for a commercial filming and decided to eat local before leaving the area. We Googled and found this gem and decided to give it a try. I absolutely love Nashville Hot Chicken and this place didn’t disappoint at all! The owner Grace was so hospitable and catered to our needs. I highly recommend this place and we’ll definitely be back when we’re in the area.

Im not sure if they get super busy but yall need to have a line out the door for this food!! And it’s right here in town! It was really really good gave very southern soul food vibe. Their koolaid is super super good as well. The sweet potatoes were a little too sweet but that’s okay! I enjoyed everything and the lady that took me and my friends order was really really nice and gave her opinions on things

I was here on business for a couple of days and a client recommended this restaurant. I ordered the breast quarter and double patty smash burger. They were both delicious!
Another thing, the homemade fries are really unique! Absolutely delicious crescent shaped, battered,onion-flavored, with a light and crispy exterior yet very moist inside!Highly recommend this place if you’re ever in Gallatin!

Being from Nashville, I’ve had more hot chicken than I can count: Helen’s Hella Hot, Party Fowl’s Poltergeist, Hattie B’s Shut the Cluck Up—you name it. I don’t get impressed easily.

I came here because of the spaghetti side and the Kool-Aid, and if you know, you know. It delivered.

I ordered the dark quarter in Stealing 3rd and the tenders in Home Run. The tenders were the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten, no exaggeration. But still the kind of heat you keep chasing even while you’re sweating and your tongue is buzzing. And the chicken batter? Tastes like your granny fried it herself, not that commercial, assembly-line coating most places settle for.

The sides hit too. Sweet potatoes taste like Thanksgiving in a cup. Sweet, rich, comfort-food level good. Mac and cheese is surprisingly solid: noodles cooked right, cheese sauce creamy without being salty. Fries are fine. And the spaghetti? Not sweet, not traditional… more like an Italian-style chili. Different in a good way.

When I picked up the order, the service was straightforward. Nothing over-the-top, just a lady at the window telling me my name and “eight more minutes.” But honestly, I wasn’t here for the small talk.

The moment that actually got me was opening the plastic bag. Everything was wrapped in those old-school brown paper bags like the exact ones your mom sent your sandwiches to school in. No hype packaging, no gimmicks, just food packed like they care more about flavor than branding. I hadn’t even taken my first bite and I already knew I’d be back.

Just a warning: watch the spice levels. Go one step below what you usually order. Stealing 3rd was great, but 3rd itself would probably be my sweet spot.

Absolutely worth the stop.

It’s 3-8-26, and I just finished my 3 piece tender meal. I went with 3rd base heat and it was perfect, with the tenders being large and moist. The ‘slides’ I got were the steak fries and beans, both were very big portions. The beans are so good, perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with lots of meat as well. Lastly, the man that took my order offered a free sample of fish, and that too was off the hook, perfectly breaded and spicy. Great food and service!

It’s a small place and you can order to-go, but it was definitely worth the wait for a table. They have some of the best hot chicken I’ve had in middle Tennessee. The mac and cheese and sidewinder fries are also amazing! Great prices too! Definitely a 10/10 and will be back!
