Visited November 10th..see my receipt.

This location is in Oroville. I took my elderly friend here for an ice cream cone ( I check on her regularly. As a former missionary ( West Africa) I know the importance of trying to help others!

She got a half and half ice cream cone. This place knows how to make good ice cream! I got a sample as well..creamy!

The place inside is clean. Indoor seating and a drive thru. Kind employee! They also have posted specials. Nice experience and fast service!

I honestly dont know why some of these places are empty during lunch hour… Foster Freeze has been a staple in Butte County for years. Granted the last time I actually went to one I was in my single digits… Anyways, let’s talk atmosphere. It was dead in lobby and drive through. However, the decor is definitely throw back and all pleather. Still very inviting and kitchen is bustling. Prices are actually fair market for the quality of product they serve. I ordered a Big Boss burger as suggested by the cashier. Also, got some staple things from when I was young for nostalgia but also to test for quality on simple items. My order: 1 Big Boss Burger meal with a medium Peanutbutter Shake, 1 hotdog, and 1 grilled cheese. Thoroughly enjoyed the burger. Was cooked to perfection, as we’re the fries. The shake was the big surprise of the meal. Most “fast food” places dont offer too many options for shakes but there’s plenty of options here and I loved my Peanut butter shake. The Hotdog was great but not perfect. I figured for the price id get something similar to a Big Bite from 7/11 but no. Also, the grilled cheese was under par. I am aware it’s not supposed to be gourmet but I have always been very honest and thorough for all of you who read my reviews. All in all nothing remotely bad about the experience but things I wish were better. Thank you Foster Freeze for the experience and would definitely recommend solid 13/15 score.

This was such a great place to stop in for a quick sweet treat! The first night we tried to come in, there was something going on with their soft serve machine so we came back the next night. I had their limited strawberry chocolate twister and it was so refreshing! Would absolutely recommend this to someone just wanting a sweet bite- and the smalls are more than enough for one person!

I like Foster’s freeze it’s not as fancy sometimes as the corporate stuff but I kind of like old school, and I hope it continues to survive . I believe they’re locally owned franchises and you can tell by the burgers they’re not ran out of a machine at a thousand an hour, and the owners are active in the community.

I prefer their shakes burgers and friesto the places down the road .

I’ve never been to a Foster Freeze. This was the first time. I really enjoyed the large selection of meals they have. They have a lot more than ice cream. They have the old fashion ice cream options though where you can order a cone and have them dip it in chocolate and I haven’t seen that anywhere for some time. The ice cream sundaes are the best. Their ice cream seems different though. Like it’s almost closer to custard than ice cream. I think they have different options though where you can get hard serve and soft serve.

It’s pretty similar to Culver’s, which apparently isn’t a California thing. They have a ton of ice cream options, including cones, banana split, sundaes, “twisters” (like Dairy Queen Blizzards), and root beer floats. Unique shake flavors like passion fruit, coffee, cherry, mint chip, and peach.
Burger was pretty solid too! I got the “Big Boss” which was soft, tasted like homemade grilled, plenty of cheese and topped with onion rings overall friendly service and comfortable retro cafe/diner atmosphere.

Some of the chicken strips had a little too much breading on them but the taste was good the cashier that helped us was a little uninformative when I asked questions specifically about the milkshakes. But my overall experience with four out of five

Definitely has a nostalgic feeling. The menu has barely changed and has a classic feel to it. Banana split was excellent.

Best soft serve in town and highly underrated burgers. Every bit as good, if not better than In-and-Out or Wahlburgers. Their French fries are also crinkle cut and perfectly cooked. The drive-thru can be slow sometimes, so it’s better to dine-in.
