10/10 recommend!!! My family did a day trip up at Russian Gulch State Park and needed to charge on the way home to Sacramento. We charged 9 minutes up the road next to a Baskin Robbins & Carl’s Jr. I wanted a real burger and literally googled “burgers near me,” and thank goodness I did because this place had good reviews! So good I had to check it out.
Spoiler alert!!! All the reviews about this place were right!!! Veronica was extra patient with our incessant questions and answered all of them even when she could have just told us to read the sign lol! We did the old fashioned, western bacon and double decker! Juicy! Perfect sauce! You have the option to order waffle fries or crinkle cut. I ordered extra krispy krinkle cut & I added raw onion to my burger. My picky teenager was happy with the old fashion and my hubby scarfed his western bacon down. They carry pepsi product drinks. To top it off we ate outside in front of a lake with a crescent moon peeking through!!! The weather was perfect at 8 pm! Before we left my teenager went to the rest room and the bathrooms were clean and she was super patient to unlock them past closing! Thank you Veronica!!!
When I head up to the coast to explore I will be sure to take this route instead of 28 just to support them. Did you know they’ve been around since 1946!? I can’t wait to come back!

Went here tonight not realizing they now close at 8:30 pm instead of 9 pm and the person taking orders (Allie) was super sweet. Family of 4 came in after me and took their sweet time, had no clue what they wanted, ordered coffee at 8:30 at night and asked Allie what they should get. She went above and beyond for them and never once acted like they came in way too late. I don’t know if I could have been as kind. Lol She answered all their questions, offered suggestions, and did it with a smile on her face.

Been going here for as long as I can remember. Great pit stop when going through Clear Lake. Service can be very slow sometimes though, so if you’re expecting fast food don’t be surprised if it takes almost an hour if there’s only 2 people working.

We stopped here while cutting across California heading up to Acata out of Arizona. The setting was nice, with Clear Lake easily seen through the park across the street.

Very friendly and real good food. There were out 9f chocolate ice cream. But I had vanilla dipped in chocolate. It was off the hook! We always stop at fosters when we are Hwy 20.

Fosters Freeze in Lucerne, CA on Hwy 20 (Clear Lake), is a gem for fellow travelers. I ordered a Burger meal and was presented to me picture perfect as well as tasty and it ate cleanly. Meaning, it didn’t go all over the place or fall apart. For those Crinkle Cut Fries lovers, this is the place. The fries are golden-crispy on the outside and soft-tender on the inside. The usual drink with the meal. Add on the famous Fosters Freeze Large Vanilla Cone all for the price of Under $13. They will serve you the dessert after finishing the main meal just as they did with me. Picture perfect meal Devoured!!!!!

I ordered the cookie dough twister and it came with nothing in it. When I asked about it the little blonde girl at the counter said it gets blended up into almost nothing and I couldn’t get anymore or she wouldn’t remake it. Cookie dough ice cream has chunks everywhere else. Do not recommend eating here. Service is slow too, burger was good tho. 1 star for attitude and slow service
