Took my sis-ta for lunch. I’ve been coming to Foster’s since the 1970s. Twas sis-ta’s first visit. She loved it. Took photos. Had great time. Parking is limited including handi-cap parking, street parking. We had to walk over all block. Twas bit challenging for my sis to walk that far, but we managed. Place was clean, restrooms were clean too, but too dark in their restroom stalls, which ladies room only has 2 stalls & their not set up for handicap with wheelchair/walker.
Love history of this restaurant. Built in 1930s & all their trophy appeared clean.
Worth revisiting. Pricey for lunch.

came from out of town to eat here because the menu and prices listed on their official website looked good — but when I arrived, the staff told me those prices are two years old and not updated. That’s disappointing and misleading, especially for customers traveling from far away.

The food may be good, but please update your online menu so people know what to expect before driving all the way here.

The future is locked up on the walls. The place is a nucleic acid gold mine. The flag tells you about the quality of bar flys inside. Woke Not and proud. Great Wedge salad, good beer. Very DEI staff. American heart beat.

We had dinner on Saturday on 12/27.
The atmosphere was awesome with all the animals lining the walls. Reminded me of restaurants in the mid west.
However our waitress was too preoccupied with other customers that she knew or were regulars of the restaurant! The only other server asked us about drinks, because our server was too busy taking to other tables. Our server didn’t offer us water like the other tables, or tell us about the specials like other tables. I ordered rib eye steak, which was very tender but had no taste! Had to smother it in steak sauce. The potato’s were good and hot, the vegetables looked good but cold ugh! We asked for more bread and she brought us 2-3 pieces and said that was all the bread they had left! Mind you it was about 6pm.
Clearly other tables received bread after they were seated ‍♀️.
Customer service we had at the bar prior to eating in the restaurant was great. Friendly and attentive!
We were definitely not a priority in the restaurant. Unfortunate, when you are paying customers! It was not worth the price!
I don’t like to say anything negative about a dining experience, but there was no excuse for the way we felt treated!

The decor was interesting and unique. The staff was friendly but seemed shorthanded. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My salmon was flaky and perfectly cooked. The lemon drop I ordered was strong and tasted like it was made with plain well vodka instead of a citrus-flavored one. My fiance ordered a Beast Burger with fries and a draft beer. The beer was a little on the warmer. The burger was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked and the fries were hot and crispy.

I have to say that this place was amazing!!!! The atmosphere was great the food was awesome and the service was phenomenal. I’m from Alabama and this was my first time in California and getting a chance to eat and experience everything and I was really blown away with how friendly everyone was and just the whole experience. I will always talk about this place and highly recommend it to everyone I can 10/10

The fish and chips here are amazing! Best EVER!! Fun place to go. Make sure you are OK with seeing animals that have been through the taxidermy process!! It’s always a fun experience here. They were getting ready to have a special event, so the kitchen was closing, but they got us fed last minute anyway. Took my uncle for his first time. He loved it!

Ok everyone, you have to stop in at this amazing place to eat off of Highway 12. Probably the best spot to eat in Rio Vista. I can’t explain how good the food is here. The experience in eating a delicious meal here is wonderful. While you eat, you can look and at all of the beautiful taxidermy. When you sit down you will get a Menu and on the back tells you all about the history of this wonderful restaurant. And how everything came together back in the 1930’s and 40’s. The clam chowder was amazing. The elk burger like I had today I would definitely order again and again. The 8 oz New York steak really with a spot for my lady. Thank you very much Foster’s Big Horn, We will of course definitely be back for more. Most likely next weekend lol. P.S. thanks out to our awesome waitress we had, you were very helpful and kind. Adding truffle cake to end our yummy meal THANK YOU ONCE AGIAN!!!!

It’s not often you get to walk in a unique and interesting place. Fosters Bighorn is the culmination of Bill Fosters bootlegging and big game hunting adventures in Africa and Northern America in the early years of the last century. Unfortunately my schedule did not allow me to a sit down dining experience but I did get to chat with the wonderful staff who had some less-common knowledge of Bill. I’m told that the burgers and fish n chips are very popular here.
