This is a really unfortunate review, but Fortune Inn has left me no choice.
My wife and I really enjoyed our first two times eating at Fortune Inn–portions, quality, and service were all fantastic. That all changed this Christmas.
We ordered Chinese food–as many do–on Christmas Day, and made sure we arrived at the pickup time they sent us. Naturally, the place was very busy–but we never dreamed that my wife would have to wait for a full hour after the pickup time they had sent us to get our food. There wasn’t even anywhere to sit.
However, we had really enjoyed eating there before, and wanted to give them a chance to make it right. After a ton of phone tag and keeping our receipts (the order, the pickup time sent to us), we were finally able to convince them to offer us a 50% off of ONE entree discount. When we called the restaurant to honor the discount, the worker we had spoken with had quit, and no record had been kept of the issue.
It’s really a shame–we would have been happy regulars here. However, failing to come even close to a pickup on Christmas and then to jump at the opportunity to make it right and follow through makes it impossible for me to recommend Fortune Inn.

Amazing food! I didn’t know about this hidden gem I drove past for years and finally dropped in to try. My partner and I ordered the cucumber salad (so good!) crispy squid, king siu mai, cilantro dumplings and the thing most worth waiting for that we forgot we ordered – freshly made sesame balls! I’m normally not a huge fan but my partner loves them. They were so crispy, and soft. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Our server was incredibly thoughtful and attentive too.
Update – quality seems to be slipping. Lots of items crossed off the menu. Our order waa kinda dried out and tasted like it was reheated from frozen. Made me real sad to experience the quality drop.

I decided to try out this restaurant after it went under a the new ownership and the reviews seemed good. It’s good! I would definitely come back! I came here a long time ago under the old owners and was not impressed at all. But the food is very good this time. We were there for lunch, lunch specials are $13, just the right portion for me. Broccoli Chicken, String Beans with chicken, and Eggplant Garlic Sauce.

Prices are reasonable, if you get the correct portions of the dish, but when they shorten you on the portion, or they serve you old food, and they do that often ,then it becomes overpriced.
Food has good acceptable chinese flavor, but not authentic chinese flavor.
Food is still enjoyable, depending on how picky you are.
White Rice is not fresh. It is already drying , and crusting.

Freshness of food is also questionable.
Especially if you order take out, or to go, expect your meat, or seafood portion to be much smaller.. they will shorten you on it.( they will skim the portion), and will try to insert old food into your order.
That is cheating & dishonesty
They have no problem in cheating customers in many ways, and different ways if they can
Please open the containers, and verify what is in inside, before paying, and walking away.
Verify the quantity, and the freshness before walking away
Convenient location.
Small parking lot.
Enough parking space when not busy.

The new owners/staff have created a really great menu- lots of options and all SO good!! We get take out often and will dine in – staff is always so kind! We especially enjoy the cashew chicken, fried rice, honey walnut shrimp, green beans…. Always delicious! Thank you!

Finally great dim-sum in Kenmore! We had the many different dumplings, shrimp wrapped in tofu skin, tripe (best tripe we have ever had), chicken dish, and soup. Everything was seasoned well and not oily. All the food is amazing, the new owners are young and full of energy and vision! So excited to see this place grow.

First time here and really liked it! The menu doesn’t indicate what is vegetarian but the waitress was super helpful! The lunch menu is reasonably priced and the dishes were generous. We will definitely come again!
