Stopped by for a casual buffet meal on weekend. They have a nice variety with Chinese dishes, sushi, and a hibachi station which was fun to try. Food was decent for the price and there were plenty of options to choose from. The place is spacious and good for a relaxed, family-style dining experience. Dessert section was a bit poor though. Overall, a solid spot if you’re craving an all-you-can-eat buffet without expecting anything too fancy.

Ahhh, where to begin this RANT OF MINE.
The name is a great, “Fortune Buffet” because you have a better chance of getting a Fortune cookie with winning lottery numbers than you do of enjoying the food.
My girlfriend and I decided to stop in after visiting the pro bowling shop in rockaway. Decent reviews, close, so hey, why not?
Total mistake. $44 dollars for buffet with free refills.
Id love to say they have a decent selection, but what good is a selection if everything is old, hard & rubbery.
Tried the sweet and sour chicken. Tasted like rubber pellets. Had enough resistance to probably handle a steak knife without cutting.
The rice was rice , just bland.
Teriyaki chicken could have been used to make a sling shot. Tie it around one wishbone stick and use the sweet and sour chicken for rocks.
Honey chicken. Same deal. Left out too long.
The chicken lo mein was soo greasy, too greasy.
At this point I’m literally thinking that dog food would have been a cheaper, safer alternative.
Honestly ladies and gentlemen… if you are looking for Chinese food, hit the local shops or hit the mall. This place is not worth your money.
Side note ! The Pepsi did taste like Pepsi, so that’s a plus.
Did I mention FREE REFILLS? LOL

Wow, what a vast selection! Sushi, hibachi, Asian cuisine, and pastries – you name it! I’m eager to return and indulge again. This place is a must-visit; you won’t be disappointed! The service is exceptionally friendly and
accommodating. The food, pricing, and overall comfort level are all top-notch, reliable, and reasonable. If I could, I’d give it more than 5 stars!

The food was good, all the usual items in a Chinese buffet. Large variety, excellent service.
Am surprised at the recent negative review – maybe either the restaurant or reviewer just had a bad day.
Fortune is very good value.

There is a significant spread featuring General Tso’s chicken, chicken and broccoli, fried rice, white rice, sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak, and chicken on a stick, among other options. The menu features sushi, seafood, fresh fruit, and a variety of desserts. The food seemed “fresh”, though some items were overcooked. The place is dim, and after a fire, it still needs an overhaul. The waitresses are nice, and the staff is friendly. Experience was good, not an everyday place maybe once in a while.

Great variety at a fair price. The staff are all very kind. I recommend sticking to the popular items to get the freshest food. Chicken and Broccoli and Honey Chicken kept moving. The sushi was popular too. Rice Krispy treats were very dry. Other desserts were great. You pay before you dine, and it includes unlimited everything (even the soda.)

Do not enjoy leaving reviews like this, and its sad to say that Fortune has lost its allure…the food quality has drastically decreased, while the prices increased. That may be the way of the world right now, but as a consumer, I have to be more discerning in how I spend my money as well. From the hibachi to the buffet, the food is over oiled, over floured, over seasoned, over sweetened, over cooked..maybe to give you the “illusion” that there’s something of substance here? Not sure, but there really is not, and sadly, this used to be one of my favorite places which has now sunk to my least favorite.

Been going to this establishment for years never have had a problem besides the food getting a little worse as the years go on, but today was a first, we walk in an older man, who we think is the owner is sitting at a table in the back, screaming on his phone a couple nicely asks the worker at the front if the man can lower his voice. I’m assuming she told the guy and a few minutes later he comes up to the couple shouting, he then sits back down, then comes back maybe four minutes later and grabs the man by his shoulder shouting. The man’s wife then stands up to deescalate the situation when the older man gets in her face screaming. That is when others got involved including myself. The women working the front then comes to intervene when the older gentleman starts pointing in her face and shouting. I do wanna make it clear that all the other workers are so so amazing and sweet but if that is the owner seriously consider some changes. (A man also came up to us during the altercation and said the older gentleman is usually drunk at the restaurant)

Very pleasant atmosphere, not busy at all. All you can eat for under $20/ person is pretty good value for the choices available.
Food was good, and better than some other local Asian take out joints. You can also bring your own wine and beer.
Restaurant was very clean with plenty of staff to make more of what you like if you empty the pan of pot stickers, sushi, pizza or even quesadillas! There’s also a station to create your own version of noodles with plenty of veggies or what ever you’d like added, cooked on a flat top grill to order.
We’ll definitely come back with our grandson, to satisfy his California roll addiction.. lol!
