I i really enjoyed my trip to the Fortune Bowl. I had the general Tso chicken with some spring rolls. Everything came out fast and was delicious! The owner was really really nice and made several suggestions on things I could try.

We had such a wonderful meal at Fortune Bowl! I had the hot and sour soup and the Hunan chicken, and both were absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. My husband had the lo mein, which he loved as well. Everything tasted so fresh and authentic. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. This is the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. We dined in but many were coming for carry out. Highly recommend!

Was traveling through and usually try and find a buffet so I can pick what I want and eat a variety. When I searched for buffets, this place showed up. I realized as I entered it wasnt but had already stopped. Good menu and service, seems to be family owned and operated. Decided to just get wonton soup and egg rolls. Wasn’t disappointed. Food was fresh and place was clean. Very good experience!

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The good is the man working there was very polite and friendly. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, and both the color and flavor of the sauce seemed off. It lacked the usual tangy sweetness and just tasted bland. The chicken texture also didn’t seem right, which made it hard to enjoy.
The fried rice was extremely bland as well. It didn’t include vegetables or the usual ingredients you expect from fried rice at most Chinese restaurants. It honestly tasted like plain rice with very little seasoning.
For nearly $30, I expected much better quality and flavor. Unfortunately, it felt more like bland hospital food than a restaurant meal. I won’t be returning.

Came here to pick up lunch was a little shock there was not a lunch menu. I ordered online and by the time I got there, it was hot and ready for me to pick it up. I got to my location and started eating it and all the food was still steaming hot like it came out out of the pot!
Anyways, I ordered steamed dumplings and then orange chicken with fried rice instead of white rice orange chicken was excellent with a little bit of a kick. The fried rice tasted just like they poured soy sauce on white rice. I was expecting some veggies or onions, each establishment is different. The dumplings were amazing and would definitely come back for them. I have been looking for the type of dumpling and I was excited. A little on the pricier side, but definitely makes for leftovers. The total was just under $26.

I ordered pickup a couple nights ago, we had the beef and scallions, shrimp fried rice, chicken egg rolls, and steamed dumplings. Everything was super good and flavorful, and I think that was the best and crispiest egg roll I’ve ever had! The dumplings were also noticeably better than everything I’ve had in the midlothian area and will definitely be a regular item for me. We placed our order inside the restaurant and it only took 10 mins, so very quick service and everything was piping hot and obviously fresh. The only problem and reason I gave four stars instead of five is because I had asked for fried rice with my beef and scallions and they gave me white. I’ve been to all the major Chinese restaurants in the area, Hunan wok, jiangs, new Peking, etc… and fortune bowl is definitely my new favorite place!

The family that runs this restaurant are the nicest, friendliest, sweetest people. They not only greet you with a big smile but they remember what you ordered. THE FOOD is really good, we always clean our plates every trip. We were enjoying it so much I forgot to take pictures! The interior is a little dated, but super clean and comfortable. We will keep coming here for family meals.

House special chow mein was dry with very large cuts or vegetables and no flavor. Shrimp with lobster sauce was more like soup (very liquidy) and lacked taste. Not the first time I didn’t like the food. Tried it after a couple of years and still not good. Hard pass from now on.

We have been coming to this jewel of a Chinese restaurant now for about 20 years since we moved here in 2003. The owner refers to me as “Buddy”. That is how good his memory is. When we call to place a takeout or delivery order, he remembers my voice and address on where to deliver! I see this all the time when I’m there picking up my food, a sure sign that this owner loves his patrons and values their orders. The food is always very, very good. We’ve had just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed with any of it. They give you so much that often, my wife and I will order fried wontons to go with a beef & broccoli order that we will split. The food is always hot temperature wise and if I want it spicey hot, he even has a special pepper spice concoction that he has shown me that will light you up! He always asks how spicey I want the order, he cracks me up. If you order from him, call him “buddy”. He will love it!!!

Love fortune bowl! House rice is the bomb, I love the “free” crunchy things they give you when you first get there, the best house mustard and duck sauce. Their veggie lo main is delicious, and pu pu platter is always great starter. Wonton soup had homemade wontons.
