We started the evening with four oysters, fresh and well-presented, with a clean, pleasant taste but the experience felt slightly incomplete without lemon, which would have enhanced their natural freshness. Prior to the starters, we were served bread accompanied by butter and an excellent, aromatic olive oil.

Following the oysters, we had the tuna tartare with potato cream. The combination was interesting and harmonious, offering a delicate balance between the richness of the tuna and the smoothness of the potato. A refined dish, enjoyable and thoughtfully composed.

For the main course, I chose the cacio e pepe with gambero rosso. The pasta was cooked slightly more al dente than I personally prefer, which affected the overall texture of the dish. While technically correct, it felt a bit firm. The gambero rosso was served raw , something I understand can be traditional in certain Italian preparations, however, in this context the flavor felt unusual and didn’t integrate particularly well with the sauce. Overall, the dish was acceptable, but not memorable and somewhat underwhelming for a restaurant of this standing.

We also tried the gnocchi with gambero rosso, where the prawns were cooked and the difference was remarkable. The flavors were far more expressive, balanced, and comforting. Both the gnocchi and the prawns were truly delicious, making this dish a clear highlight of the evening.

To accompany the meal, we enjoyed a dry red wine, which was well chosen and complemented the dishes nicely.

The atmosphere was pleasant and elegant, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening, contributing positively to the overall experience.

That said, considering the restaurant’s reputation, strong online reviews, and prestigious image, the dinner did not quite live up to expectations. The disappointment of the cacio e pepe, combined with prices that felt quite high for what was delivered, impacted the overall impression.

Great spot in Milan for a special occasion. Elegant without being over the top!

We really enjoyed several excellent dishes: the tartare di scampi, the risotto with squid and artichokes, the tagliolini with scampi and artichokes, and a wonderful cacio e pepe with gambero rosso. The true showstopper was the pistachio tower for dessert. Impressive in both size and taste. Definitely share it among at least four people!

A couple of downsides: the music was too loud, which made conversation difficult at our table of five, and the seared tuna starter was disappointing compared to the rest of the meal.

Overall though, Forte Gardens is a stylish choice for a nice evening out in Milan, with some truly memorable dishes and a lively atmosphere. Staff were very kind too.

We visited this restaurant while passing through Milan, following the recommendation of our friends. Everything they told us about this place turned out to be absolutely true. The atmosphere is wonderful, very warm and welcoming, and the food is truly delicious, every dish was a real pleasure.
What impressed us even more was the service. A special thank you to Beata, the girl who took care of us. It was such a lovely surprise to find out that she speaks our native Russian language. This immediately created a very cozy, almost family like feeling and made our evening even more special.
We left with the best impressions from the atmosphere, the service, and of course the food. We will definitely come back and gladly recommend this restaurant.
Many thanks as well to the management for such a well chosen and professional staff.
Ciao!

Really authentic and delicious regional seafood restaurant in a central location in Milan. Their rendition of caccio e pepe with prawns and lobster pasta are highly recommended. Big thanks to Mariano for taking such good care of us over dinner. Saved in my favourites — we will be back for my next visit!

My favourite dining place in Milan! The restaurant offers a refined take on Italian seafood and pasta dishes — every plate was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Their wine list is well-curated, with excellent options to accompany the food. The terrace is stunning, especially at night with the warm lights and greenery all around, while the interior blends modern elegance with Italian charm. Service was impeccable- friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Perfect spot for evening, dinner or aperitivo.

Sea bass tartare was good. Grilled fish was okay. I didn’t like the seared tuna at all. I didn’t taste charcoal taste maybe because I am a little sick? Great service and a very lovely place though

We had a truly wonderful dining experience here. The food was excellent – we enjoyed a perfectly cooked sea bass in a salt crust, followed by a tiramisu that was freshly prepared right at our table. The flavors were outstanding, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant made the evening even more special.

However, the true highlight of the night was the service provided by our waiter, Alessandro. He was attentive, personable, and brought an extra level of charm to the entire experience. When preparing the tiramisu tableside, he not only demonstrated great skill but also shared the fascinating story behind the dish, which made it even more memorable.

This combination of fantastic food, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service made our evening unforgettable. We will definitely return and can highly recommend asking for Alessandro if you have the chance.

Beautiful terrace, good service, food was a hit and miss. The cacio e pepe was very good, and so was the pasta with artichockes and shrimp. The tuna tartare was flat. The tiramisu was exceptional. Several dishes wew prepared at the table.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely spectacular and so is the vibe. Unfortunately, the service as a whole was not very good. I’m not sure if we went on an understaffed night, but by the time the restaurant was full and we were ready for dessert (we had the first reservation so we were supposed to be done a little earlier), it took 45 minutes to an hour to come. The reason that I say the service as a whole wasn’t good is because our server, Alex, was exceptional, but unfortunately the only person who knew what he was doing. This led to him being everyone’s server and there were too many people for one person to do it all (especially since every other worker there was asking him questions constantly because they didn’t know what to do— it was a little chaotic). If this restaurant can get more people like Alex, this restaurant would be incredible. Definitely would recommend for the food (specifically the salt crusted sea bass and cacio e pepe)!
