We had the beignets, the hog’s head sandwich, and the souffle pancakes. All were delicious, though the beignets may have been the surprising highlight. They were creamy due to the ricotta batter, yet still quite light. The caramel coconut dipping sauce was outstanding. The sandwich was tasty, but perhaps a bit too rich without enough of an acidic component to cut through. The souffle pancake was almost exactly as advertised. The texture was heavenly, evoking both pancakes and souffles successfully. One minor criticism might be that the sauces were somewhat overly sweet overall.

In Philadelphia’s crowded field of superb dining establishments, Forsythia stands out as an absolute gems. Owner/chef Chris Kearse is a brilliant and imaginative chef and he has a knack for attracting a highly trained and amiable staff who add professionalism and knowledge to a remarkable meal.

One of the best French restaurants in the region. Fun, flavorful, and inventive — they have modern classics and out-of-the-box culinary masterpieces! A destination spot indeed!

Excellent food, perfectly cooked, with rich flavors. My beef cheek was melting and the scallops were seared very well, they were huge, very fresh and very tasty. I visited for restaurant week and I would probably visit again.

Our service was top notch. The dishes were all well prepared and tasty. The skate steak was really delicious and a must try. The beignets were freshly made and flavorful. They have a nice cocktail and wine list as well

My boyfriend and I had a good experience at Forsythia. The food was tasty, especially the foie gras. I would like to come back to try some other dishes.

We started out with Corn & Truffle Beignets. This was excellent and my favorite course. We than had the Miso roasted eggplant, good not memorable. I had Scallops, small plate. Would not have been enough to eat alone. My friend had duck. Dessert cheesecake. All good. All above average not spectacular except for the beignets and bread.

When we ordered the smoked white fish rillete, we were surprised to receive some deviled eggs as a gift as well.
