We asked some locals for a dining recommendation after our plan A didn’t work out. What two of the locals agreed on was to recommend Forno Bello for good Italian fare at a good price. One of them told us he only ever orders the appetizers there. So we stopped in to give it a try. We were very pleased. The place wasn’t busy and we had a nice hostess that doubled as our waitress. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer, followed by lasagne and a salmon salad. All were very good. The thing we liked best though was the amazing generous portion of bruschetta. It was superb and we remembered the advice of the person we met that said he only ever gets Forno Bello’s appetizers. Very wise, but we were glad we got to try a couple other items too. Next time, Forno Bello will be our Plan A when we want to go out for a nice Italian meal.

Forno Bello is a local Italian restaurant located in DeLand, FL. This restaurant is best known for their pizzas. The decor is sadly dated, and feels very out of touch and unpleasant. However, our service was pretty quick; and got our food out quickly.
The food here is alright. The calamari is good, but it a bit tough to bite. The pizza is good; and has great Doug. I liked the flavor of wood fired pizza. Overall, would come here for the pizza.

Went in Sunday night! Best pizza around. And the service is always top notch! The minute you walk in you feel like family. Thank you Ashley. The pizzas are big and are definitely shareable. Bring your appetite!

I loved my pizza! My husband did not enjoy his meal. He ordered veal parmesan and the sauce tasted like Prego or Ragu and the veal was tough. Apparently they did not know how to cook it and couldn’t take a few minutes to make sauce. It was a busy night and the place was loud and all the tables were full, but for the price, it wasn’t worth it. Oh, the wings we got as an appetizer were good!

First off the wait staff is AMAZING. If you want severely under cooked pizza then this is the place for you. The first few times in the spring this year this was great! I came back to town in August and since then holy smokes it’s terrible the food. Again the wait staff is amazing!!!! They can’t do anything when the pizza. It’s terribly under cooked. They rush the food out. I hope it changes cause I really loved their pizza from back in the spring.

We were looking in our area for woodfire pizza and Forno Bello was one of the first to pop up. While it may have been great in the past, from our experience it seems like the staff on all levels have just given up. We started with a glass of wine recommended by another patron and we were happy with it. We ordered an appetizer and the stuffed portobello mushroom we had was really good. Everything was looking promising. Then came dinner… The salad my husband got had a generous portion and he said it was fine, my son loved their baked penne and was trying to stuff it in even when he was full, my daughter had the lasagna and while she didn’t think it was bad (she liked it because it tasted just like the ravioli out of the can) the rest of us thought it lacked flavor and was bland. But the wood fire pizza… The whole reason we came to this place… The whole premise of the restaurant… Was undercooked on top (all veggies weren’t fully cooked) and burnt and dry on the bottom. We’ve had wood fire pizza before, this was not it. My husband asked why it was literally black and the waitress disregarded the question and was like, *you ordered a wood fire pizza, they all come burnt* no, no they normally don’t. Whatever, we hadn’t eaten in 7 hours, we picked the uncooked veggies off and just ate around the black bubbles… But just the charred flavor was still burnt in there. So, long story short I’m giving Forno Bello a C as in… You’ll never C me in there again. Bad food is one thing, but the staff brushing us off and trying to pass off burnt food as normal is not good.

Server was great! For the price of each entree, I would have thought bread or a side would have come with the entree. Seemed like a small portion for $23-$25 per plate. Gnocchi was great, shrimp scampi plate not so much. Noodles were undercooked and shrimp was overcooked.

Stopped by on our way back home from Daytona to fill a pizza craving.. The pizza was delish except the bottom part being a little burnt. The wings we ordered were yummie and marinated in rosemary oil with other spices which was different but good!

Beautiful restaurant with amazing food. We ordered a pizza and arancini for appetizers and they were delicious. For entrees we had the chicken alfredo and drunken mussels. It was spectacular!!! Will definitely go back.

I had a wonderful meal at Forno Bello today, from their specials menu, salmon with a Dijon mustard sauce. It was perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious, as were the potatoes and green beans. I wish I had room enough to have 2 of the pistachio desserts!
