Was here 2 yrs ago while in valley. Went few times a month for the Stromboli which WAS outstanding. I’m back in Valley and was excited to that delicious Stromboli but…biggest disappointment. Thick dry burnt crust, very little filling, no cheese. . The dipping sauce now tastes like Hunts canned tomato sauce, no spices, no flavor. Charged extra $2.50 for little plastic container of tomato sauce. Almost $20 of dissatisfaction.

We had many people tell us to try Formacio Pizza and they were correct. It was amazing. Very well priced and completely satisfied. Would diffently tell everyone about it. Get in and try it out, you won’t regret it.

We learned from friends about this Pizza restaurant in Mercedes. I was aware it had a 4.7 rating of 1900 reviews and we learned why it had such a high rating. The staff first of all were all extremely friendly and ready to get you anything you needed. The food was amazing and the price were simply reasonable. The staff stayed on top of cleaning the tables as guests left and arrived. My wife and I ordered a 14” pizza, chicken salad, and drinks for $22.00 our experience left us in awe that we plan to tell our friends from McAllen area that its worth the drive. 5⭐️s because it’s worthwhile!

I was genuinely excited to try this place after seeing so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell short.
From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had a very strong musky, mildew like odor. I’m sensitive to smells, and it was overwhelming enough to turn my stomach and affect my appetite, especially when combined with visible water stains on the ceiling and the overall dingy atmosphere.
The prices are reasonable, and the food was okay, but it didn’t live up to the hype. The marinara sauce was bland and watery, and the pizza crust was thin and soggy. The calzone was underwhelming as well not enough sauce, and when I asked for more, they charged $1 for a tiny cup. The calzone was so watery that I had to dab it with a napkin, and eating it with cheap plastic utensils and paper plates made it worse. The boneless wings were decent mostly crispy with a saucy coating, which I did like. The meatballs were small and not so good. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated.
While the prices are affordable and the service is good, the strong odor and disappointing food ruined the experience for me. I give this place an overall 6/10 and I will not be returning.

The pizza was soggy unfortunately, we were hoping for a brunch with the pizza but all the toppings would fall and dough was soggy. I had high expectations being that it had a high review. We will stick with pizza hut and cortinos

It’s a smallish pizza place, with great ideas! They have a varied menu with a ton of additional toppings available. When a restaurant can combine: great service. Food prep people who like their work and are proud of it, pleasant atmosphere, good spacing for the seating, in a clean and healthy establishment, they’ve got a winner for sure! Did I mention that the prices are very reasonable??? They have several desserts-i chose the canoli (quite good. Very authentic).. all in all. It was a terrific stop with great food as the result…

OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! We were greeted the second we walked in the door and the absolutely phenomenal customer service did not stop until we walked out the door.. Se have been to some pretty classy places and this little pizza joint was hanging with them easily in that department..
NOT OVERPRICED!!! We have been to a ton of pizza joints.. They are all overpriced.. The meal that we had today would easily cost us $75-$100.. @Formacio, I think we only spent like $50..
The food was pretty great also.. Didn’t get a chance to try any of the actual pizza, because we ate some clam chowder, wings, pasta & Stromboli.. However, we’re definitely going back for to try the pizza asap..
The atmosphere was pretty relaxed… There was a table having a birthday party, the restaurant did not seem to mind…
My only warning would be… Depending on when you go, parking may be a little challenging.. There is parking on both sides of the road in front of the restaurant, and at the opposite end of the street you will find a parking lot.. So worst case scenario, maybe plan on about a two minute walk..
You should definitely go check this place out

I am from New York, and this is one of the most authentic New York style Italian restaurants in the valley. The pizza is good, but the calzones and stromboli are right on the mark as far as real Italian food goes! Excellent marinara sauce fresh meats and veggies, and I am hooked on the New England Clam Chowder, especially as this is hard to come by down here. And a decent bowl at that! I do not live very near Mercedes at all, but I make the trip when I want that Italian food like up in New York! Haven’t even tried the wings yet that I see people touting about on here. But looking forward to getting around my need for a stromboli to try them!
