I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! From the beautiful dining room to the server, the food was exceptional! Just EVERYTHING an out of towner would want to try for the first time for real! The food is fantastic and the environment is so inviting. A must stop if you are in from out of state! Especially if you want a great (not good) bowl of gumbo!

The food was good, nothing spectacular. I had the chicken fried steak special, flavor was good, temperature was cold. Shrimp pasta was wonderful, as were the fried pickles, light and crispy.

Ate dinner then breakfast next day at restaurant on hotel grounds. Dinner prices
excessive for so-so food. Fish sandwich was made with small fish chunks, but tasty bun and hot fresh fries. Corn crab chowder had ample crab but too much corn. Breakfast pancakes cold. Coffee tasted like same in hotel room. The waitresses morning and night were super efficient and, along with hostess, very kind.

Shame on you for using import seafood instead of local. Don’t give excuse that you use them to keep prices down because comparative offerings are cheaper with local seafood.
Having said all that the food taste and presentation was very good.

I cant believe I spend almost $15.00 and get 12 pieces of fries that’s why the forest is falling apart.

Food was flavorless, bland and either under or overcooked. Appetizers were probably the best part of the meal. Gumbo was like eating watered down leftovers, veggies tasted from a can and any place that cant make spaghetti is an automatic no. Unfortunate that this is one of the only resturants in town.

Claims creole/Cajun but nothing was even a little spicy. Inside a Best Western and felt that way. I got the shrimp Alfredo which was very good. Another liked their chicken parm. Sauces seemed jarred. But the 2 Cajun meals were not very good. The bouten balls were good.

The Forest in Franklin has such a good breakfast! I absolutely love the cheesy hashbrowns—they’re my favorite part. Everything I’ve tried has been tasty, and the cozy, down-home feel makes it even better. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

This place is ALWAYS ON POINT!!!!
I WILL TRAVEL AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES JUST TO DINE HERE—THE FOOD IS THAT GOOD!!! lol

The waitresses are all sweet and the most cordial.

EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS GOOD!!!!! EVERYTHING! Well…I haven’t tried the Po Boys…because there are just too many OTHER homemade meals that are worth the calories.

The gumbo, hamburger steak, grilled catfish with etouffee…and MS mud pies are my favorites…along with the red beans and rice and the spaghetti and meatballs.
