Being born and raised in South Jersey just a few miles from Philly and after moving to this area and missing a good Philly Cheesesteak, Forefathers is an incredible find. Wow. Had a regular size with fried onion, bell pepper, mushrooms and hot peppers. Side of crispy fresh delicious fries. Life is good again. Pics attached.

Third time trying this place. First time at this location. Every steak sandwich at both locations, no matter the cheese or add ons, has this weird how a wet dish towel smells flavor.
Staff is consistently flippant and too caught up in their own conversations to do anything other than yell out an order number.
The fries are good.

I don’t know what they put in their sandwiches to make them so darn good but I’m halfway convinced it’s illegal. The flavor of the sandwiches is out of sight. However I recommend don’t go there on a date night or anything because you will be a mess when you leave. You’ll probably find cheese in places the next day that you didn’t expect. Always a great go-to. They are a little pricey but I never feel like I’ve been overcharged or anything. Fortunately I am in a position where I can afford it very easily. But if I wasn’t blessed with being financially secure I could see how people would think it was a little pricey. But this definitely is a case of you get what you pay for. I sometimes get the feeling that they close a little too early though. But whatever time they close I will work around it to get their cheesesteaks. They definitely know how to do it!

I typically order the regular size (8″ or so), wife chooses the small (5″-6″). They offer many fry choices (regular, sweet potato and loaded). It’s an off menu option, but you can ask for a half-half (half regular, half sweet potato).
Each meal is made to order, steaming hot and with delicious, soft bread. I don’t live near either Forefathers location, but it’s always on top of the list when I am traveling The Valley.

Service was great. I liked the build your own option. I got a Mini with steak, mozzarella, ALL the veggies listed, and jalapeno cilantro ranch. My husband got the Regular steak, provolone, ALL the veggies listed and cheese wiz sauce. We shared the seasoned fries with the fry dipping sauce. I usually snap photos of our food, but we went in hungry and accidentally devoured everything.
Both our sandwiches tasted Amazing! The sauce made a huge difference between both our meals. Both great flavors but completely different taste because of the added sauce. The thin steak was well seasoned, the veggies were mixed in well (were other places might throw them in and make it sloppy) this place filled in the sandwich perfectly. The sandwich was rolled into a foil where it allowed all the flavors to marinate together and slightly steam the bread, but still keep it’s bold flavor and texture.
Will definitely keep coming back!
2nd visit decided to upload pictures this time. SERVICE was still GREAT, food still amazing! This time we got sweet potato fries 10/1] and half buffalo chicken salad (solid).

5+Stars. Yes it’s pricey. But worth every cent. The quality of the chicken and beef are tops, bread is solid. And those amazing very crispy fries. Food came out fast. Super clean counters. Seating was adequate plus they have outdoors which is on the shady side of the building for those hot days. I’ll be back soon!

I was craving a cheese steak sandwich while we were staycationing and Forefathers had good reviews and the photos look amazing so we gave them a try. My wife went and got takeout and we both got the regular cheese steak sandwich and fries. The cheese steaks were so good and had great flavor and texture. I would get another any time, however the fries were a disappointment. Their fries are coated and we just don’t care for the coated fries. Great sandwich, not so good fries.

Stopped for lunch prior to heading to airport on suggestion from a friend. Great suggestion. The food was great. Very limited menu, but we knew that coming in. Had the cheese steak sandwich with provolone, sweet peppers, mushrooms and the spicy blue cheese sauce on the side. Then ordered fries and it came with a drink from the soda fountain, iced tea available which is what I drink. The fries were really good, the way I like fries. Crispy and the serving was plentiful. Definitely recommend a stop here for a sandwich and would stop by again if visiting the area in the future.

7pm arrival. Always worry some end of a shift. While the employees were in high spirits, interior empty, I go in solo. I was instantly greeted by the gentleman at the front register. I order, very simple menu, made it easy for him to take my order.
Approximately 8 minutes later, the most mysterious meal comes out shining RED WHITE AND BLUE. Foil rolled tight, fries wrapped up in foil also.
After opening, I just stare, snap the review photo Now this was Without a doubt the best steak and cheese I’ve had in the Phoenix area. Do not sleep on this one! Fries, crispy salty and just right! Complimented prefect!
While the price point was $24, I’m leaving with leftovers and full after arriving starving. Everything was fresh, hot and the ribeye seasoning was spot on.
