Social Profile:

Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston. Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End trattorias. “It’s tiny, 30-32 seats,” . “It’s perfect for a date.” The team designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, Primi dishes include meatballs, and crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, and pork porterhouse round out the menu.

Stylish, cozy eatery with exposed-brick walls offering pasta, risotto & pan-roasted mains.

Nice, cozy Italian place. Limited seating with a bar. There are plenty of wine options. Food came on time. Appetizers were plentiful. Service was good.

Five stars. Forcella was recommended to me by Eric at the Wine Bottega down the street, and I’m so glad I took the suggestion.

The food was amazing, and the owner, Nino, is truly a friend to everyone who walks in the door. I sat at the bar and bartender Jordan was kind, easygoing, and the perfect level of engaging for someone dining solo.

It happened to be Restaurant Week, so they were offering a three-course meal for $46. It was a great way to try several dishes in smaller portions. The Caesar salad was fantastic, the carbonara was the highlight of the night, and the chicken parm was good as well. I think they used smoked mozzarella, which isn’t my personal favorite flavor, but everything was clearly made from scratch and prepared with a lot of care. I still happily finished it.

The red sangria was incredible and dangerously easy to drink. It was freshly made rather than something pre-batched like you see at a lot of places which was nice.

Service pacing was perfect. I never felt rushed, but I also wasn’t left waiting between courses. The rest of the staff was warm and welcoming, and the location made it an easy walk back to my hotel with a very full and happy stomach after a couple of sangrias.

I actually tried to make it back on my last night in Boston before flying out, but didn’t get back into town before they closed. Next trip, it’ll be one of my first stops. I would suggest making a reservation, since their small, intimate dining room can get pretty busy.

Excellent. Loved the bread, the salami and cheese plate was abundant and so tasteful. We went with an excellent Pecorino which paired nicely with some of the best Fettuccine alla Carbnaro (got the pasta, pancetta and egg yolk PERFECT) as well as another excellent Cacio de Pepe). Grand slam and we’ll be back….all the way from Rhode Island).

In a sea of Italian restaurants, this one stood out. Not just for their culinary magic, but for their hospitality.

Anyone who knows the North End understands how hard it is to get a table without a reservation. We stuck our head in the door and were welcomed immediately.

Phia and Sarah gave us first class service. They were attentive, warm, and made the entire experience feel personal.

My son and I were in town and decided to drop in, and they made it a dinner to remember.

Stellar service. Exceptional food. We’ll absolutely be back. 10/10

This was a pleasure. The northend in Boston is in itself a pleasureful experience. Forcella certainly met the expectation. Don’t be mislead by the 4 rating, 5’s are rare from me so a 4 is pretty good. The food was absolutely fresh, hot, flavorful and plentiful. The sauce with my lasagna was a wonderful tomato, rich in flavor and not over acidic. Smoked salmon with a creamy mascarpone pasta, damn! So good. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. Healthy wine list. We will be back.

They were able to accommodate a group of 12 people very quickly. The services OK nice and the atmosphere was good but the food was not great at all
2 of my colleagues sent their food back (chicken parm): the chicken smelt like old moldy shoes.. my eggplant lasagna with marina sauce was cold when it came out
Drinks were good and the charcuterie board was good

Forcella is a great Italian spot right along the Freedom Trail, next to Paul Revere’s house. I had dinner at the bar, and the food was delicious, well prepared and nicely presented. The bartender gave some solid recommendations, which I appreciated. They accept major credit cards, and I’d gladly eat there again.

This dinner date turned out to be so nice even though we weren’t planning to eat here. We asked if they had seating and the staff were so friendly. We ate outside and they put a heater next to our table. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable!

Went here before a Bruins game with a buddy. Sat at the bar because something happened with our reservation, which was fine with us. The bartender Matt was very friendly and engaging. The wine and drinks were great. The appetizers and entrees were delicious and well presented. The place was clean and ambience was pleasant and lively. Overall a great experience.

Some of the best food I’ve had in the morth end. The chicken parm was delicious and cooked perfectly. The pasta that came with had a vodka sauce base and the texture was soft slightly chewy and creamy, honestly possibly the best pasta I’ve had. Wife got the mushroom risotto and daughter got the pesto pasta with chicken . Both liked their meals.
