Such a cute, tiny, hole-in-the-wall with diner food. We were 3 adults, with two kids and an infant, but there was only space for one high chair, and a stroller on the side.

There is definitely no shortage of diners in Jersey. Located on the former site of La Bella Italia off of Huyler Street in South Hackensack, Foodies Diner was opened back in August 2021, and my partner and I decided to pay them a visit for late lunch today. The owner is Teddy Sakellaris and is no stranger to the restaurant business, as he has friends and family who own many diners and other restaurants throughout the state. Luckily, there was a spot in their small private lot. Upon arrival at this cozy establishment, we were greeted by the staff, who made it feel like we’d known each other for years when it was only our first time, and we got a booth. Trivia cards were on each table for entertainment. Their menu feeds that diner fix with all the morning classics such as pancakes, waffles, and omelets, along with some hearty dishes like steaks, sandwiches, and the list goes on. We decided on the specialty burgers, which came on a brioche bun with fries, one being the Philly Burger (peppers, onions, mushrooms, and American cheese) and the Cuban Burger topped with pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickle slices. To our surprise, the food was fresh, tasty, and delicious, with a good portion. It’s spotless; the price was reasonable, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. The vibe felt so cozy and welcoming that we could recommend it.

Overpriced and poor service. Skip the orange juice – its not fresh squeezed nor tasty. Pancakes – i like powdered sugar but too much for my taste. Service was the real miss- uninterested, unfriendly and zero enthusiasm. Went because this place comes up highly rated at 4.7. Id say its a 3- star diner at best. Hopefully they improve but most likely wont be back. The sausage links were tasty, on a positive note. The hostess was also welcoming.

I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures of the actual food, it was too good and I was too hungry to take any but trust me when I tell you, this place is a MUST. It was one of the first places I tried in the area and I’m soooo happy it was! The service, staff, owner and food were all marvelous — absolutely incredible! My boyfriend and I had such a great experience here for breakfast yesterday! The staff was super accommodating as soon as we walked in. They had us seated comfortably right away. Our waitress was so sweet! She had perfect recommendations to order since it was our first time there. She also got us French toast samples while we waited that was delicious. I personally got the Nutella French toast that was so delicious! And it’s made on challah bread! Our coffee was refilled promptly and we were always attended to overall. There was also fun trivia cards on the tables that we enjoyed. Foodies feels so cozy and welcoming. 10/10 would recommend!

Went there for the first time today and Teddy was so amazing! They were short staffed but you’d never know with how smoothly he kept things running. From waiting on our table, seating other guests, checking people out, and clearing/ cleaning tables this man kept everything running.
