OMG!!! For my birthday my kids treated me to dinner from Food from the Soul. I had the fried fish platter, with mac and cheese and cabbage. My son had fried wings and the mac and cheese. My daughter had the oxtail platter with candied yams and mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely mouth watering. Each takeout container had to weigh 5 pounds. And since this was our first time eating here we received a wonderful surprise-dessert on the house…banana pudding which was amazing! My only regret is that I didn’t try this place sooner . Will definitely be back. Thank you, Food from the Soul, for making my birthday meal super memorable

Made three visits to this place before posting this review, and wanted to try a variety of what they had on offer. The fried chicken? Crispy, crunchy and moist. The jerk chicken? Falls off the bone and has a nice heat to it. The shrimp? Crisp and juicy, could maybe use a bit more seasoning but it’s still pretty good. Trina was a great help in deciding on what to try first and even gave samples of sides, all of which are great. My only gripe is that it’s a bit expensive, but it’s great food and made to order so I can accept that. I’ll be coming back for sure.

where do i start, this place was amazing. They were so sweet and welcoming. I got Mac n chz, cabbage, and chicken wings. THE FOOD WAS TOP TIER mouth still watering thinking about it. So flavorful, def something you don’t wanna miss out on. They were so sweet to our kids and even had some candy for them. I cannot wait until they expand and we are able to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. 10/10 recommended

Being that I’m not from Pennsylvania, I was looking for a sit in restaurant but it turnt out to be take out only. The customer service was amazing, very welcoming. The food was chefs kiss. I got a little taste of everything, well almost except the collard greens and cabbage. I can’t wait to visit again before my work contract is up. Don’t meet me there, beat me there 🙂

Made there in person today. They do not disappoint! Ordered wings and potato salad and pork chops , mac and greens via DD. Chicken was fried good and potato salad was good. I tried and was surprised because most stores don’t get it right. I like that the chops were bone in but will ask for fried less hard because you get two, which is great but end up warming up one the next day. Great business!

This place located off the main strip. Although they were not open for dine in, we decided to order takeout. The menu was fairly simple a bit pricey for the serving sizes but don’t let that discourage you . definitely worth the wait which was about 25 minutes. The owners were very friendly . They serve up some really good fried chicken wings, carfish and shrimp and OMG the oxtails were delicious and full of flavor . The sides are equally delicious. They also have something for that sweet tooth . So if you are visiting the area stop in and give them a try .

This place is absolutely as advertised. The customer service was great and the food was even better . We had the fried fish and shrimp combo , yams , mac n cheese, rice and beans and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be coming back for more! Please support black business in Pottstown, this place is great!!!

Ordered the fried fish dinner meal. This is best plate of soul food I’ve ever had!! Service was great and friendly, food was fresh and hot seasoned to perfection. My friend got the yams and they were cooked perfectly (not overwhelmed with nutmeg like other places) 10/10 experience!!

I ate here a few weeks ago and my experience was so phenomenal that I needed to leave a review weeks later! Not only was the food delicious and some of the best in town! But the customer service was top tier! Dining at a place and not being treated as if they don’t care for my business but having the owners go above and beyond to make sure I felt special is not something you come across often! Trinah and her father were simply amazing and are truly running their business the right way! You have a customer for life in me!
