Amazing pizza! First time visiting Chicago and everyone there was so nice and welcoming! Ian at the cash register made our experience extra special! My first deepdish pizza experience, and fontano’s folks made me feel like i was just part of the neighborhood. We got a 10″ pie and an eggplant parmesan sub among the 4 of us. you have to have a side of their giardiniera too. All very tasty!It’s a short walk from the Art Institute Museum , so super convenient for tourists to try the Chicago staple. Thanks for your great hospitality and good food!

Super yummy!!!! We accidentally dropped half our deep dish pizza and they gave us slices for our dropped pizza! They were super nice about it too, we love Ian (he’s a great server) ❤️ This location is also super close to he Bean and the Chicago Art Institute!

If you’re hungry, and in the area, you must stop by Fontano’s. The staff is extremely friendly. The food is really good. Different experience on how you order and get your food, but it works well. Very casual easy spot. The food is high-quality and very good. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and the prices are very fair. If you’re in the area like I said, definitely make a trip in and try it out. Also the Italian ice is a great dessert.

I visited Fontano’s Sub & Pizzeria in downtown Chicago with coworkers for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. When ordering, I felt rushed and didn’t have enough time to review the menu. I ordered the roast beef sub, which had very little meat and lacked flavor. The sandwich was also very watery, to the point where liquid was dripping out and made it difficult to enjoy — I ended up not finishing it. I was hoping for a better quality lunch and left disappointed.

We got a chance to meet the owner which is no small feat in a town the size of chicago the pizza was delicious, we ordered a wise guy on our servers recommendation and he was not wrong! Highly recommended! Strategically located next to the park.

Goated spot. The deep dish pizza is amazing and, if you get it by the slice, you can get in in a minute or two instead of waiting 45 minutes – 1 hour, which is the norm at other deep dish places like Giordano’s. Also the staff are the kindest people ever!

I was here in May and this was my 1st Chicago deep dish pizza experience. I thought it was amazing!!! The slice was big enough to be split by 2 people but I managed to put a big enough dent in it. I was exploring the city during a flight layover, so no leftovers were coming with me. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Loved it!
