Lovely staff, lovely place. I took the Moroccan crepe (spinach/feta/mint) and was not particularly impressed but my friend took the parisien and really liked it. All crepes are gluten free and made from buckwheat, so more similar to the east atlantique Breton crepe than the typical Parisian crepe.
Nice cappuccino, definitely needs sugar for a sweet tooth like me.
The host and waiter were super friendly, super nice everyone was really nice.
The restaurant was tidy and clean. I had stained or smujed glass of water, didn’t like that.
Talking about the food: I ordered,
● Sultan:
Spicy lamb sausage, lentils, spinach s feta cheese topped w/ fresh tomatoes $ yogurt mint sauce. I will be hounst, the lamb needed more flavor, the lentils are not equally cooked and you can’t even taste the yogurt sauce.
There is alot of work to be done in this dish.
● Wild berry: dilecious.
Food quality was great, survise was really good and fast.
Would I come back? No, I would not.
Tables inside and outside of course; mostly full.
All 5 of us loved our food, and enjoys sampling everyone else’s food.
We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town.
The answer is always the same, pricing. For a group of two kids and two adults having not had a single alcoholic beverage, the bill tipped, $140 at lunch. This is NYC pricing without having the luxuries of Midtown.
The meals we had were delicious, and the menu, while a little bloated, had a minor sense of organization. It was an attempt to be French while crumbling to the American-zation of the dishes.
My Ham and Swiss sandwich was well prepared and presented. My children enjoyed their crepes and fell in love with the home squeezed lemonade.
Service was quick, but a true French cafe always has a fresh pot of coffee brewing. It is a serious misstep to have customers wait for coffee. In Paris, no fresh coffee would mean no customers.
Finally, if you have a few extra dollars to spend, it is worth a try. Though if you’re a typical family watching their pennies, this isn’t for you.
The brunch menu is different to one which you would ordinarily find at a restaurant. Being that it is a French restaurant and Crêperie – the brunch menu was very on brand. The options varied from a wide variety of sweet and savoury crêpes, a breakfast bruschetta, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, quiche du jour and much much more. Delicious, divine and delectable.
I had the savoury Sultan crêpe, and was really impressed with the full range of flavours from the spicy lamb sausage, lentils, spinach & feta cheese!!! Such a unique take on your usual ingredients in a crêpe, and literally an unforgettable meal!!
Sometimes having a table outside means that you can get forgotten, but this was far from the case in this instance. Our server was extremely attentive and also gave great recommendations for things to order when we were indecisive.
Edit: came back two years later and the food was still amazing! Got a seat outside and it was perfect and does have some shade. I loved the Bellini to drink for brunch. The Washingtonian was so so so good. I could have eaten another one and even forgot to get a picture. The dessert ones were also good!
