I had the filet, it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the fresh white fish, he says it was delicious. I have a gluten allergy and the chef that cooked the steaks came to the table to assure me that the seasoning used for my steak is gluten-free. Our server Dennis was great! We will be back next time we are in the area

I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews based on what I can only imagine as snooty, uppity people who can’t recognize a small, established business trying to survive with a loss of a family member and proprietor of the business as well as the struggles with trying to renegotiate their liquor license with the state (not local) who probably doesn’t care if they sink or swim (just want money and doesn’t care about small businesses). Not to mention what Covid likely did to their business too.
Anyways, the actual review:
The service was great. The woman who has been getting flack in other reviews was extremely friendly with us and attentive. We waiting only about 5 minutes for our appetizers after ordering them and only 30 minutes for our mains. She got our drinks refilled quickly and asked us how everything was more than once.
The food was great as well. We got rangoons which were hot and tasty as well as salads. The caesar dressing was a fun, different take on the traditional (so you may not like it if you’re expecting traditional) and I enjoyed it. We got a filet, white fish fried basket with fries, and a porterhouse. The porterhouse was ordered medium and came medium. The white fish was piping hot and very tasty (no fishy taste). The seasoning on the porterhouse was excellent; not “over-seasoned” as someone else suggested. Only gripe with it was the crust wasn’t as good as I might have wanted but the taste more than made up for it. The filet, on the other hand, tasted amazing and had a wonderful crust and cooked perfectly (medium rare).
The atmosphere was fun, inviting, and homey. The grill on the middle of the main room where they crooked the steaks was fun to see and watch. You can even cook your own steak for a few bucks off your meal.
I truly hope the state governing body in charge of their liquor license gets things going and understands that this is a small business in a small town who’s livelihoods are effected by them (the government) dragging their feet or being difficult. They had a liquor license for over 40 years. Make it right Michigan!
This is a truly nice spot to eat on your way up to pictured rocks. Don’t expect the fanciness of the Ritz but instead the homey, welcoming, small town feel you expect from a small town business. I can’t wait to come back.

Lets put it this way, there was a group of 6 of us ladies and we all talked about coming back because everything was so fantastic. We all live around 2.5 hours away and we all said we would make the trip just to stop by to have the food! Pizza was excellent, seafood pasta amazing, crab rangoons awesome, nachos delicious, burgers are massive. Everything was not only delicious but HUGE portions!! The service was also excellent as well!!

This place was so good, we ate here two nights in a row while staying in Munising, just one town over in Christmas, MI. This place was packed on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Old bar turned into a steakhouse, my Dad had the Coconut Shrimp and said it’s the best he ever had and that the Pina colada sauce was delicious. I had the Whitefish sandwich which they broiled to perfection in a lemon pepper sauce. Hands down the best fish sandwich I’d ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot of fish in Florida. So good I ate it 2 nights in a row. The steak where huge and looked delicious and everyone around us eating them where happy campers, there is a large open grill in the eating area that the owner cooks them on, it adds to the atmosphere. This place isn’t fancy, it’s clean, with a average decor and has a casual homey feel. I highly recommend. There is a lot of seating and they get busy, so there may be a short wait and the food is well worth the wait.

Great place for steak. Option to cook yourself and save $2 off the menu price. There is a 4% surcharge for payments other than cash. They did not serve beer or cocktails on the restaurant side. Not sure if it was available on the lounge side, we didn’t ask as it didn’t bother us. Clam chowder was great. Steaks cooked to order based on temperature with the charcoal grill right in the restaurant. We had to wait a little extra as we watched our rare and medium rare steaks sit on the grill a little too long.

We arrived at 5:30, the grill was up and running with flames, we ordered 2 steaks, mine was a filet and I asked for it med well, after an hour and our waitress avoiding us, we finally got her attention and asked how much longer since it had already been an HOUR, she immediately got defensive and said it takes 30 minutes to cook your steak, ummm okay what about the other 30 minutes, she went and talked to the guy grilling and came back with the next set of excuses, they were waiting for the grill to get running (it clears was when we walked in at 5:30) and said they just received charcoal this morning and it’s shitty, another 30 minutes later she brings out our food, I cut a piece off the end and it clearly is raw, we have to call her back over and at this point I was starving and didn’t want to wait for them to throw my steak back on the grill. I told her I just want to eat the baked potato. She came back with an empty plate and took the steak away. When she brought us the bill, she had the nerve to say “I took the steak back and cut into the other side and it was cooked, it was grey in the middle”. So I should of been happy paying $55 for a steak that only half of it was cooked correctly? And I never saw the supposedly cooked side. She then had the nerve to bring out the bill and charged my for a salad and a crappy baked potato. I left a 53¢ tip and the ONLY reason I did that was because I didn’t want to wait another thirty minutes for change, I hope the $7 she changed me instead of an apology worked out in her favor… NOT.
I do want to say if you go there AVOID by all cost the short blond older waitress with glasses section.
We ate there the day before and had Dennis as our server, he was absolutely amazing, what he recommended tasted great and he was so attentive and polite.

This seems to be one of the few places in or near Munising that serves more than bar food. The exterior looks like a biker bar, and the interior is just meh. However the food is very good. They do not serve alcohol if you want a drink to accompany your dinner. Our server was Tim, and he was very nice and answered questions about the menu. I got the tomato bisque soup, and it was one of the best I have had. Also got the Parmesean crusted whitefish and wild rice. The fish is a light flavor and flaky. Got the steak sandwich, and it was very tender. Small bite-sized pieces of steak. They prices were average. Unless you are getting fish or steak. They have a huge grill for the steaks. You have an option to cook your own.

Happy we stumbled on Foggy’s, a classic local watering hole, while visiting Pictured Rocks.
The burgers were the size of your head. Fries and onion rings were delicious. The tequila lime chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

Great burger! Highly recommend this place. If you are staying in Munising, drive a few extra minutes to Christmas and have a great burger. They are a steak house, the steaks on the grill looked really good. I gave 5 stars for atmosphere, which in the UP, I don’t look for fancy, I want clean and friendly, and Foggy’s had a nice relaxing feel with good service.
