BEST SUSHI EVER!!
I’m a traveling nurse and I looooove sushi. It’s always a struggle trialing many restaurants till you find your go to spots in your new city. Flying sushi is it. 10/10. I will honestly think about this place for years. It was so delicious and never once was it like mehhh it’s not the same. It was always delicious. I love salmon and the portions were always soooo generous with the fish to rice ratio. I loooooved the sex on the beach roll, the salmon roll, salmon hand roll and the Washington roll. ALSO I’m a sushi fanatic and nevvvver have I seen this elsewhere. But flying sushi offers the option to add in real crab to your roll for $5. I highly recommend doing it… the taste is incredible and I honestly hate imitation crab now… but I’ve never seen anywhere else offer such an option. I really do recommend it though. It makes your rollls soooooo much better. The taste is incredible. They also always give miso soup with their rolls and that is also soooo good. The customer service was also top tier… they were always so nice and I have nothing but good things to say about flying sushi as a whole.

Great experience tonight. Go for the special rolls in the back of the menu. The spicy pepper tuna was amazing. Fresh and very tasty. Wonderful waitress with great knowledge of the food. It was packed so people had to wait. Overall five stars

The sushi here is probably the best I’ve had in Tacoma. It’s extremely fresh and great quality. You are paying for the quality tho. I had the fried oysters appetizer, it was alright, lacked seasoning and the sauces weren’t great to pair it with. The sushi is really good though and the atmosphere welcoming.

Outstanding sushi, probably the best we’ve had in years. Incredibly celiac safe with knowledgeable staff on avoiding gluten (GF soy sauce and real crab!). The service was spectacular and the food was top notch. Cannot recommend enough.

Flying Sushi has a super menu. If you want Japanese food you want Flying Sushi. The sushi is fresh, thick pieces on perfect rice balls. Ramen, udon, yakisoba – all delicious. The bento boxes are beautiful and tasty. Yummy hand rolls. Creative entree-size rolls that are a real meal. Service is wonderful. The kitchen is fast and excellent. They have a bustling take-out business without causing delay for dine-in guests. We love this restaurant and feel very lucky to have it nearby.

Great sushi! This place is absolutely charming and the service was exceptional! I highly recommend dining here. Our sushi was amazing, and the bento box was sooo good! Not to mention the cute little tea pot set up .. how fun 🙂 What a little gem! We’ll definitely be back.

This place is excellent! We had two California rolls, gyoza, and spicy teriyaki. All super yummy.
I loved that the spicy chicken teriyaki had the vegetables mixed in instead of the side. I love spicy food so take this with a grain of salt but I’m calling this heat slightly over mild, but not quite medium. It is a comfortable little kick ️ I didn’t think I would like the rolls since the rice looked thinner than I’m used to but the flavor was absolutely there! I also got the regular fried gyoza which was awesome (dipping sauce too), but there is also steamed on the menu if you rather.
My order was pickup so I didn’t interact with the staff much, but they were all super welcoming and friendly when I walked in.

This place was a miss for us. The wasabi was likely from powder, the ramen lacked flavor and salt (egg was over done not runny), the salad was overdressed, and the bento had soggy tempura and lukewarm chicken, among others. We don’t go looking for these types of things and what was most redeeming was the atmosphere. Service was good.

Ordered to go. I’ve had great food here before but, the crab Rangoon was burnt and had only crab inside and not much flavor. Egg rolls were ok. I did love the sauce though! However next time I order Crab Rangoon I’ll go to Trappers.
