If you are a chai enthusiast, this place is an absolute gem.
We started with their custom chai flight, which was a fantastic way to sample different flavors. The Turmeric Chai was soothing, the Fire Chai had a perfect kick, and the Signature Gud Chai (jaggery) was rich and authentic. We also tried a second flight featuring Chocolate Strawberry, Chocolate Rose, and Chocolate Mint chai all three were unique, creative, and absolutely amazing.
The food was just as impressive, We tried the Cheese and Chutney and the Rose Pistachio. They were incredibly unique and very tasty the perfect texture to pair with a hot drink.
Samosas: These were delicious and served as the perfect savory companion to our chai flights.
Dessert: My son loved the Gulab Jamun with Mudslide Ice Cream, a brilliant fusion of warm and cold flavors.
One of my favorite touches was the nostalgia factor; they offer Parle-G, Hide & Seek, and Marie Gold biscuits, which are the classic, essential accompaniments for any chai lover.
The ambiance of the cafe is very nice, welcoming, cozy, and well-designed. Whether you’re looking for a traditional cup or a modern twist, Fly Chai is the place to go. Highly recommended!
I invited a friend to come with me for some chai and catch up session and we had a wonderful time! I got the signature flight and my friend got a different flight to try (Rose City, Jaggery Brown Sugar, and Chocolate). We also got two kinds of Bun Maskas: Rose Pistachios for sweet and Cheese and Chutney for savory. Both were very tasty but slightly burnt on the bottom. Rose and pistachio were a surprisingly yummy combo! I got my flight at their regular sweetness with oat milk and I’m so glad I did! It was actually the perfect amount of sweetness for me. My friend got her flight less sweet and you can definitely tell the difference. I was surprised that I preferred the regular sweetness this time. My favorite was the signature (they are signature for a reason!) and my friend loved the Rose City one.
Service was so warm and friendly and we were told they toast and grind the spices in house which is so awesome! The space itself is so colorful and vibrant and they do events as well in the upstairs loft (your next book club meeting anyone??) This was such a fun experience and I will for sure be back to get my chai fix!
Yall. I found it.
I believe they’re still fairly new and getting settled, but even still they’ve got their menu set up and everything is ready to order. Since it was my first time in, my friend and I ordered a chai flight (each) and two of their breads. It was fun to taste a selection of what they have to offer! I don’t usually like golden milk but wow theirs was tasty and you should definitely try their spicy chai if you’ve never had it before. But the star of the show was the signature chai, brewed and prepped to perfection!
The bread was soft and sweet, and was the perfect compliment to the teas! I can’t wait to come back and try their chai float and other fun drinks!
Neil, the owner, is passionate about chai and sharing his mother’s chai recipes with the world, and that passion shows up in all of the flavors! From the imported jaggary used as sweetener to the herbs and spices to create the various chai options, you’re going to be very happy here if you love chai.
The space itself is also very cozy. Regular table seating on the 1st floor but head on upstairs to really get comfy and hang out with your peeps.
We’re visiting Portland from the Bay Area, and Fly Chai ended up being one of the standout experiences of our trip. The ambience is vibrant, warm, and welcoming — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy truly authentic chai.
They serve their chai in traditional clay pots, and makes the experience feel even more authentic and memorable. The Jaggery Brown Sugar Chai and Rose City Chai were exceptional — rich, aromatic, and beautifully balanced.
Don’t miss the Bun Maskas (some sort of sliders)! The Cheese & Chutney Bun Maska was out of this world – they have Fly Chai on the buns. And great tasting samosas too.
We also loved the health‑forward approach they take with their chais, using real ingredients without cutting corners.
We’ll definitely be back on our next trip!
