Today we tried Floyd’s 1921 restaurant in Morehead city and it was an experience as you walk into the restaurant its beautifully well decorated giving a warm and cozy feeling. The outdoor Christmas decorations were adorable. We got sat down right away and ordered a special meal , Mac and cheese as the appetizer and my husband had the fish of the day which was sword fish. To end our evening we had a delicious chocolate cake. The pineapple drink I had was so good. Highly recommend this place for your next date night ! Our server did an amazing job letting us know about the specials and drinks. Upscale & fancy feelings a bit pricy but worth it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Somewhat difficult to find parking. Come early for a good parking spot.

Great dinner spot, quiet with lovely atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. The dinner venue offered small bites, soups, salads, seafood and steaks. Decent wine selections. We split a fried oyster appetizer – very good. I had cream of cauliflower soup and a small plate of scallops on fried green tomatoes over collard greens, absolutely amazing! My husband had blackened flounder with shrimp etoufee over collard greens, equally delicious. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the evening. Our server Evelin was wonderful. Really nice bar atmosphere. We had the liver (it was really not the best I’ve had and I order it ANY where that has it on the menu and never disappointed) and I can’t put my finger on it but it just wasn’t that good. It was cooked properly but the onions were mush and had no flavor. Crab cakes were large and good. The rice came from a boil n bag I think. It was not good and flavorless. The caprese salad had VERY thick unripe tomatoes and also had pesto on it. It was fine. Like the fried okra and at it all. The vegetable medley had way too much of one herb – overpowering. But was cooked nicely. The hot rolls were delicious. We really did enjoy our dinner and will be back. One disturbing thing was the bartender showing servers how to pour bottle beers, by putting the mouth of the bottle into the bottom of the glass and raising the bottle as it pours – keeping the bottle (which many people have handled) in the beer. It’s gross and unsanitary. And incorrect, especially for a Bud Light. Guiness beer maybe, but all beer? Definitely not. Glad we were drinking draft lol

All our years of going to Beaufort we never ate here. Here we are way up in EI and decided to make the 35 min drive to Floyd’s and so glad we did. We arrived early so we sat at the bar and the bartender was so sweet. Made me a tropical NA summer drink. Great conversation. Got our table and Mark was our server. Had an appetizer of caprese salad and the flash fried Buffalo oysters over bleu cheese grits. YUM! Husband ordered the chicken and biscuits. Whoa! That was a lot of food. Perhaps our eyes were bigger than our stomachs ordering those apps! But we managed! I ordered the special, halibut with coconut shrimp and subbed the rice for mashed potatoes. I got my dish and realized I didn’t get what I ordered. I’d normally eat it and I knew it would be good, but Mark had sold me on that special.( Photo below is the salmon. I didn’t get a picture of the halibut) So he realized it was an error and quickly got me the halibut. I’m glad I was “that customer” It was amazing. Mark was so apologetic but many years as a waitress I knew mistakes can happen. No big deal. He more than made up for it. Dinner was delicious. Worth the drive. Sometimes you just need to make the drive and treat yourself to really good food and service. Thanks to the entire staff. It was fun watching you all. Great spot.

Portion sizes were larger. Be ready for some leftovers. I tried the meatloaf and chicken w biscuits and both were great. There is a nice outdoor seating area that had a fireplace.

Floyd’s 1921 is such a cute place to dine! The atmosphere is lovely! The food is fantastic. The menu is creative featuring Southern dishes with a gourmet twist. They have a nice selection of seafood. It is a great spot for a date night or fun night out. They also have a fabulous brunch on Sundays. The cocktails are great and they have a nice bourbon and wine section. Brunch is fantastic. I highly recommend a Bloody Mary. The corned beef hash and shrimp and grits are incredible.

Very limited gluten free or gluten friendly options. Very unfriendly maitre d. Bar staff was excellent. Server made several mistakes with our order. They do not apparently write the orders down and tend to forget things. We also had a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for seating. Very cold rooms during the winter months.

We reserved a table tonight on the recommendation of some locals and WOW!!! This is NOT your run-of-the-mill seafood spot. This was truly gourmet food that was cooked to perfection. Everything from start to finish was delicious.
Perfect for a date night or a special dinner or just a nice night out! Kid friendly (nice kid’s menu and burger selection!)!
We will absolutely recommend to anyone and we will be back!
