Tiny hot dog stand opened in 1959 serving straightforward wieners with renowned housemade relish.

Flos hot dogs are $4 each, which might seem a little expensive, but the quality makes it worth it. The place has that classic mom-and-pop, roadside charm—a small, unpretentious spot that feels welcoming. The staff are friendly and make the experience pleasant. While the hot dogs don’t come with chips, they do sell a good-sized bag separately. It’s a busy location, which speaks to how much people enjoy it. If you’re looking for a tasty, no-frills hot dog with a hometown vibe, Flos is a solid choice.

Let’s get the positives up front: Flo’s is an adorable little hole-in-the-wall Hot Dog Stand that is run by a cadre of pros who are both friendly and efficient. It’s famous for their unique relish+mayo +celery-salt topping that is a nice change of pace from most sandwich garnishes.
There’s one little problem: their weiners really bite, but not in a good way. The quality of any hot dog starts with the quality of the meat, and Flo’s are bargain-basement supermarket variety. Sabretts and Nathan’s in New York didn’t become legends because of their toppings. They serve millions every year because of their rich beefy taste. Flo’s dogs really ARE dogs. Sorry, but it’s true. The price may be right, the toppings good, but these hot dogs leave me cold.

Blink and you’ll miss it—but Flo’s is serving up steamed hot dog delish!
I ordered mine Flo’s Way: sweet & spicy molasses-onion relish, a smear of mayo, and a sprinkle of celery salt.
Sounds weird? It works. Like, crazy good works. It’s tangy, sweet, savory, and totally unforgettable.
Don’t expect fancy—expect simple and delicious.
Worth the stop? 1000%.
Cash-only, limited hours, and absolutely worth planning your day around.

We stopped into Flo’s Hot Dogs on our way out of town. We ordered 6 hot dogs – 3x house specials and 3x loaded hot dogs. The hot dogs were delectable and the restaurant itself no frills & no fuss. It’s also cash only so make sure you’ve got cash on hand! We loved it.

Ordered one Flo’s house dog, and it is so delicious. I really regret that I did not buy two.
Cash only. $4 plus tax.
First you need to make order, and the old lady will give you a number. Then you wait to be called.
Have waited for about 20min to get the food.
The customers have parked the cars all around the house, and some are parking on the road side. So I would say it is not hard for parking.

Simple, but delicious hotdogs. Tried their specialty house hotdog, and it is worth the hype. Parking lot is on the small side, so be prepared to park on the street.

Heard great things about this place and so we decided to make a quick pit stop and grab a few Hot Dogs. The women working were very kind and welcoming. Really loved the feel of a classic hot dog stand.
I highly recommend going here!

A wonderful hot dog and a memorable experience! The House Special was the best dog and I also sampled the loaded and sauerkraut.
Staff was extremely friendly. The inside is very tiny and parking on the busy road is a challenge, so be prepared for that!

Should you find yourself in southern Maine and suddenly the hankering for a hot dog begins to take hold, follow me . I’ll take you to this unassuming red building in Cape Neddick neatly tucked off the roadside with a sign that beckons, stating matter of factly “ FLO’s Steamed Hot Dogs” herein you will find several ways to dress your HD but most famously the choice is often the classic FLO’s HOUSE DOG. A Steamed dog , adorned with FLO’s special relish , mayo, celery salt and ensconced in a nice steamed bun. The tang of the relish, the hit of the celery salt combined with the richness of the mayo really makes a delectable dog for the enthusiast. I also ordered a Loaded Dog which is like the house dog with a dormer added on in the form of onions which I promptly wolfed down with gusto. I am not sure what legacy Flo’s holds amongst the hordes of Hot Dog devotees but she has brought this one to her table as a life long fan. And if leaving vacation land has you wishing your stay was longer you can take a jar of Flo’s relish home with you as they offer jars of it for sale to enjoy anywhere you like.
