This was my first visit, and it absolutely blew me away. The salsa alone was worth the trip—easily some of the best I’ve had in Austin. It instantly reminded me of my mom’s homemade salsa: roasted serrano peppers, fresh garlic, stewed tomatoes, and just the right touch of salt. Bold, warm, and deeply comforting.
We kicked things off with the beef queso, and it did not disappoint. When the salsa is that good, you know the queso is going to follow—and this one delivered. It came out warm and velvety, loaded with seasoned beef and topped with a generous scoop of creamy guacamole. Pure indulgence.
I went with the beef burrito lunch special, served alongside classic refried beans and fluffy rice—solid, satisfying, and full of flavor. My buddy ordered the pork carnitas with charro beans, and one bite told me I’d be ordering that next time. The pork was incredibly moist and tender, with a rich, savory flavor that tasted like it had been marinated to perfection and finished over an open flame.
To wash it all down, he had sweet tea and I had unsweetened. Leave it to Texas to do iced tea right—smooth, refreshing, and the perfect complement to an unforgettable meal at Flores Mexican Restaurant.
Yours sincerely

Great Mexican restaurant that has been in Dripping for years. Great service and food. Been coming here for 15 years.

The food was so good! The drinks were okay, and the service was subpar. Although our waiter gave me some awesome suggestions for choosing my dinner, we didn’t even get chips and salsa or our drink order taken until 10 mins after we walked in. That would have been somewhat okay if they were busy, but they weren’t. Our food selection was the Caliente Pollo with double rice and a beef chalupa (both pictured). The chalupa was massive! My husband got Carne Roja en Guajillo. He said it was so good.

I am convinced that the people who eat here only come because its convenient or have zero tastebuds. I ordered chicken fajitas and they had to have been the most dry bland chicken i have had in a long time. The peppers were hard and crunchy the tortillas very underwelming. The rice looks like rice a roni and i didnt even want to try anything else. I cant believe this place is busy all the time.

Not my first recommendation if in the Dripping Springs area. Drinks are way over priced for their taste. Food isn’t very authentic. If you are getting just chips and salsa, it’s good. Or just nachos, it’s ok. Again, our opinion after a second try. Our server was also hard to find. Another server saw us sitting and waiting and offered to help us. $14!! for that drink. It’s was so gross.

Just an amazing family feeling. We come here at least twice a week or more. If you haven’t been here for the amazing food and drinks, bring the kids for the fun family atmosphere. The staff is amazing. The location is perfect. If I had 10 stars I’d give them that. Kudos to the Flores family for offering such a gem out in hill country. Cheers.

Our waiter Santiago was very personable and a very good host. My husband and I chose a mixed meat fajita and added the supreme veggies. It was absolutely delicious. And there was just the right amount of jalapeños. We ordered a few drinks, but they were very weak. However, that did not ruin our experience.

Had lunch here today, our first visit. Very nice server, but 1) out food was given to the wrong table so we had a long wait with nice apologies but no discount offered (you should have comped our appetizer, seriously) 2) their long grain Mexican rice tastes like bad boxed rice with large pieces of cooked celery ♀️3) my husband ordered shredded beef enchiladas and said they were tasteless and that guy never fusses about food – yikes! 4) it’s really loud in there and we were seated in the bar area at 12ish .. Doubt we will go back…

I really liked this place. Some of the dishes are truly authentic, so kudos to them for putting these on the menu knowing they may not be so popular with the American crowd.
