The food for the high tea was presentable but a bit rich for my taste and the cuisine for the high tea a bit questionable
Presentable but there were too many sweets versus savory and overall too rich
The scones were nice. Then they presented a very big chunk salad of sorts which tasted ok but the chunks were so big of beets or other
The small cream soup and a lot of stuff in containers like sauces and sweet mousse type stuff
So not a traditional tea per say but still enjoyed it overall but pricey at over $100pp
Overall the cuisine for the high tea was not as enjoyable as like the mandarin oriental in Vegas like the cuisine wasn’t very finger food-y or goes with tea?
A photo friendly spot for sure
The downstairs restaurant is spot on with their Thai cuisine from drunken noodles to curries
We ordered the Nutella croissant and the tower of cakes and macaroons which were both beautiful and delectable. The latte passed the test meeting Gabe’s standards and the mango passionfruit was fresh and flavorful.
The service was excellent; warm and welcoming.
Definitely a highlight of our trip! ☀️
They say it’s cafe but you really cannot work here it’s just a cute cafe.
The latte was good slightly bitter, the cake was really good had mango flavour to it.
Seems a little expensive for the portion they serve for the cake, but overall good.
We were greeted immediately upon entering and shown to the upstairs loft area which is separated from the rest of the restaurant and appears to be reserved specifically for afternoon tea.
The setting is lovely, with flowers woven into the screens, classic marble topped tables and a trickling fountain set into a wall alcove.
Our waitress greeted us with the tea menu (we had the tasting tea, which meant we could have as many different teas as we cared to try), I chose to begin with The Queens Guard, organic black Ceylon tea blended with stately rose and fragrant lavender. It turned out to be my favorite tea too.
Our Tea was served in courses, beginning with fresh warm scones and a choice of strawberry or vanilla cream to top them with. The scones are small but tender and delicious. The next course was a glass of pumpkin soup and a roasted root vegetable salad with blue cheese dressing. The soup was so good I probably could have eaten a whole bowl of it! Then came the 3 tier tray filled with savory bites and sweets. These included a cheese straw with truffled dip, an individual sized berry trifle and cherry rolled cake. For Valentine’s Day there was also an iced brownie heart and ganache heart. Portions were ample and we were stuffed by the time we finished.
Service was very quick and our waitress was wonderful. We always had full water glasses and full teapots.
Overall, this is one of the best value Afternoon Teas I have had in the DMV and I would highly recommend giving it a try.
Reservations are essential as seating is limited. For the holiday I reserved a full month in advance.
Parking is in paid lots/garages only although on the weekend the first two hours were free so we ended up not having to pay.
The cocktails (we chose mocktails as we were saving our drinking for later) were exquisite. Both the duck and the Thai fried rice were utterly delicious.
But the waffle…OMG the waffle. The mango sticky rice with coconut milk and gelato ON THE WAFFLE…one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. And I *like* dessert.
The espresso they serve is rich and delicious. Very full bodied but not bitter.
The ambience is a 10. The entire place looks like it came out of a fairy tale.
Service was a skosh slow, but we were not in a rush and you have to think of it as a fine dining experience. Prices of everything was pretty reasonable. For everything we had, we were just over $110.
We will be back, often!

Flore Cafe is attached to Sisters Tysons, a delicious Thai restaurant. After enjoying a fantastic yellow curry dish, I couldn’t resist sneaking over to the café for dessert — a delicious cortado. The space is elegant yet relaxed, with quick and friendly service that made the experience even better.
Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
