Excellent service. The owner even came out and talked to us before we got our food. The only fault I have is that my steak was a bit overcooked. The food was very good, though. The green beans had chunks of bacon in them. The mashed potatoes had the skins on them and were perfectly seasoned. The steak was good in the middle where it was cooked to medium well. I got a side of fried okra, and it was very good. You could taste the okra. Many places, you mostly taste the breading. We will be back.

The food is ok, the same as you get most places with the exception of the Cajun menu, someone knows how to cook some good old swamp ppl food for sure. They can be pissy to out of towners at the bar, not so at the restaurant. Worth the trip if you like authentic Cajun food.

Food was so good. The pork fried egg rolls and fried pickles were delicious! My daughter loved her steak and she is picky the price was even better. Definitely be back next weekend.

For a random bar in Big Lake, the variety of menu options such as seafood gumbo and jambalaya and killer French dip sandwiches plus big burgers was a surprise. Even better? The food was review-worthy delicious. We’ve had hit or miss service here before but this visit we got awesome conversation, pleasant and speedy support. Definitely will visit again.

3 chicken fingers for $15.xx or 2 chicken fingers for 11.xx? Make it make sense. Asked for clarification to receive little from a pretty rude and dry bartender, Tara. Then called to be told no manager nor owner available, and that the prices told were correct. Have been before and had good experiences so quite a bummer of a lunch today.

Had lunch on a Friday. Our order included Hush puppies, Cod Basket with fries, a Burger plate, and a Philly Steak Sandwich basket with onion rings.

The Hushpuppies were golden and delicious. Fries were fresh cut potato fries, the burgers are ground on site and hand pattied, the Cod was deep fried a crispy golden brown, the onion rings were just the right done so onions were firm but not crunchy, and the philly steak meat was just right…not fatty or grizzly.

The resturant is clean as well as the bathrooms are clean and styled nicely.

Prices are right and reasonable.

Save your money.

UPDATE LOL
Writing a more eloquent, detailed review since the owner decided to be snarky with my previous response.
My family and I (party of 6) dined in on Friday night, prime rib night! Red flag one: there were 2 other tables… on a Friday prime rib special night…
Decided to let it slide, and had very high hopes. Ordered mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini, that took a while to come out, but AGAIN, I had high high hopes after hearing endless praise about this place. Maybe the staff was busy, maybe the cooks were new, maybe, just maybe, I was being too harsh on a new restaurant out in BigLake, my home town. Our meals’ salads came before we ever saw the appetizers, but even I didn’t think it was that big of an issue, just strange. My family and I are not the pickiest of the bunch, mind you, but I do feel welcome to criticize this business to pieces after they came after my “business” (HOBBY) that I haven’t actively done in 3 years (let alone, have no public reviews for). Food arrives, this is the second time we’ve seen our waitress all night, she was kind and likely a little stressed, fully understandable. Dinner rolls were staler than a rock, stabbing it with our fork was akin to cardboard, prime rib was tough and flavorless, the chicken sandwich had… little to no chicken?? I ate a few bites before passing, as I just wasn’t a big fan. The waitress did not question why any of us hadn’t even gotten halfway through the meal OR had a full uneaten sandwich, simply commented on how “I suppose y’all don’t even want boxes?”. It’s summer so I expected a mosquito or two, not the 4 flies my family and I avoided the dive bombs of. I gave y’all a chance, was disappointed, and with how the owner is deciding to criticize me on my Google profile? I will not be returning and advising others to not do the same. I wish you all growth as a business and within your characters. Ps: not all was bad, the only thing we all finished were the mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. Do better.
