Flavaz is a good soul food restaurant but the way they handle orders is not deemed logical. First you have to place an order, take a number and wait for it to be called even if you’re eating off the hot bar. It doesn’t make sense to have to wait an hour (yes I literally waited an hour) on food if I’m ordering from an already prepared food bar. Then when I got my plate it was thrown together a the neck bones wasn’t done. The people are nice but they need to change their ordering process and food wasn’t up to standards today and I’m highly disappointed!

Came here for the first time & was impressed. The food was good & the “blue juice” was good (Kool Aid).
Plenty of parking in the front. Place has plenty of seating & was well lit.

My two daughters one said 10 out of 10 recommend the other said you can actually see the pepper in the mac and cheese my girlfriendloved everything she had. We were greeted by three employees when we walked in Toya could tell we were first timers so she gave us the run down and Isaiah was very patient with us while we looked at the menu and ordered. The fries were amazing we all four didnt even speak while eating them to the very last one I had baked chicken mac and sweet potatoes the chicken was a little dry in some parts but it literally fell off the bone and had great flavor sweet potatoes you can tell weren’t canned and they were amazing the mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve tasted outside of a home kitchen and thays so hard and rare to find for me toya made sure our food was right she made our experience even better the music choice was great too very nice atmosphere and our food didnt take long despite the long lines we will be back the next time we are in town

I’ve eaten at this place a few times. Let me just say this. The food is NEVER consistent! One day it may be ok the next it may be good the next you’re so mad you’re boiling better that the neckbones they serve , which I may add that have to be cut with a steak knife! I can say this and mean it! I wouldn’t eat there again if they told me it was FREE!! I ordered the neckbone plate again , 3rd time was it! Neckbones so tough you need a real steak knife to eat them!!! I don’t understand why ,they are sitting water under a heat lamp all day! Now let’s talk about the vegetables! I guess that they don’t know that there are other vegetables other than the ones they serve everyday!! And fresh ones!My God ! Sticky and sometimes crunchy rice, crunchy cabbage, and I like some firmness to mine , but this is not that. The mashed potatoes sometimes they taste real sometimes they taste like the inside of the box they came from! The PEAS! There are so so many more than the field peas with snaps (canned) how about some fresh blackeyed or crowder or FRESH field peas ! JUST TRY FRESH AND STOP CUTTING CORNERS Green beans (canned) the brown gravy is definitely NOT HOMEMADE!! It looks almost black! And the cornbread jiffy muffins The collard greens the not sweet brown yams the powdered cheese macaroni that runs the fried chicken skin is so tight it doesn’t look fresh just looks like it sits under that heat lamp all day the dark meat leg quarter should NOT be dry! I waited for what seemed like eternity for crab legs wings and ranch fries that was definitely not worth it and it was supposed to be “ cooked to order” the crab that those legs came from was definitely on Ozempic! I have yet to find a decent piece of meat in the tiny shell! And the lack of seasoning! It’s nothing like the videos that they show you Fries were so soggy! And I’ve ordered Ranch Fries from other places that were not The supposedly fresh cooked wings were as tough as trying to chew bark from a tree The cakes that crumble when you try to eat it And $5 for a cup of KoolAid is diabolical! I’m not sure where some of the food is that they show on the pictures/videos, but I have yet to see it. Flavas you have got the last dime of my money. And to top it off the dazed and confused acting employees taking your order! And when I complained about my food I was told and I quote “ I don’t know what to tell you!” I do not recommend this place !But since this small town is very limited I guess you can take your chances cook at home eat somewhere else or drive to B’ham! Oh, and the dining room is ALWAYS dirty and floor sticky with that $5 kool aid I guess! $80+ dollars just gone. I would have felt better driving down HWY 20 and just throwing my money out the window! All the stars that I did give are a -⭐️ Not worth a 1/3 of what they charge!!!!

My daughter goes to school at UA and wanted to try Flavaz while my husband and I were visiting. She picked a good choice. The food was filling and there are lots of options.

While we did have to wait in line a while, it was so worth it! The food was so delicious and flavorful. My baby was sucking the juice out of the Cajun corn lol. Definitely recommend and will be back

I ordered chicken wings. The drumettes were the size of my ring finger. Barely any meat on the bone. I would suggest buying whole wings or frequenting your favorite wing spot for that option. I think the star of the show is their soul food. Plenty of foot traffic as I waited for my order, and I noticed those patrons mostly purchased soul food. If I return, I will try some next time. A lot of the items I wanted were out of stock so I can’t provide the most thorough review.

Had an amazing time at this establishment. Food was good especially the neckbones and rice with collard greens and cornbread. I will definitely be back again purchased one crab and wing broil and one wing broil to go.

Oh my goodness! That cornbread bowl was EVERYTHING! After ordering from this restaurant please make sure you have time because a nap will definitely be coming soon after the meal! GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! We’ll be back to support soon.

We came to town for a quick visit and ended up getting food here for about 8 people. Food was AMAZING. Everyone was pleased including the picky eaters. The flavor was soooooo good and the food was perfectly cooked. Everyone was super sweet and took their time answering any questions we had. We will 100% be back. The kids are hoping they will open a store in Texas ❤️
