Amazing coffee and super friendly service! The space is cozy and clean. You can tell they are taking their coffee seriously. We had a kombucha lavender scone that was also so delicious. Drove a while out of our way to visit this shop and were not disappointed!

Excellent espresso. Roaster has won BEST Roaster in OHIO from Food & Wine magazine. Scones are top-notch — kombucha/lavender are out of this world. Worth a stop. Wish I lived closer!

I’ve been drinking specialty coffee for over 15 years, and unfortunately this bag from Flatlands was a big letdown…especially considering the price. The quality simply doesn’t match the premium positioning. The cup was flat and uninspiring, lacking the clarity, sweetness, and character I expect from specialty coffee at this cost.
I noticed they reference winning “Best Roaster in Ohio” in 2022, but it’s now 2026, and that accolade doesn’t seem to reflect the current product. Coffee changes quickly, and based on this experience, the brand feels like it’s riding past recognition rather than delivering standout quality today. Not bad coffee, but significantly overpriced for what’s in the bag.

Place is “aesthetic” and fitting for those who like it. I can only hope the employees are getting paid well enough, because $5 for the cheapest and smallest black coffee and over $7 dollars for a matcha is overpriced for a city like BG. Serving it in a tray with a glass jar don’t add up for the lack of quality in the drink itself. Pastries are very good, and over priced… Not a misunderstanding. Pour over coffee usually isn’t burnt either.

Overall a good start to a blossoming coffee shop. Crafted pastries were tasty and unique – they could have been slightly fresher or warmed for a better experience, but enjoyed the flavors. Coffee and teas are crafted pour-pver style – which makes a difference. Varied seating for single, couple, group and larger gatherings was appreciated.
Only challenge was the time it took for one barista to make several drinks. Otherwise, worth it. 🙂 Recommend.

Visited with some friends to chat and read together. The space is very nice and cozy however save your neck and back, do not sit on the leather couch by the door. It is insanely uncomfortable especially while trying to maintain conversation. Got a scone and it was one of the best scones I’ve ever had. I don’t drink caffeine or coffee so I opted for a hot chocolate and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Hardly any flavor or richness at all. I don’t recommend going here if you plan on studying, working, reading, or trying to hold a quiet conversation. The music was pretty loud and the acoustics of the walls allowed a few groups of women’s conversations be extremely loud and distracting.

Flatlands has become my new favorite coffee shop! It has it all, extremely friendly and passionate baristas, amazing third wave pour overs, and a super cool modern atmosphere! It was the perfect getaway for me to enjoy some great coffee and relax while on a work trip. Would come back to Bowling Green just for Flatlands.

Place is a vibe. If you are in town or passing by you should make a point to stop in.
I had the Cortado. Ethiopian. It was great. Smooth and dialed in. Could pick out the qualities of the coffee.
Barista on bar was chill and took some time to talk to me about the coffee on bar for the day and different things.
Building was clean and bathrooms had changing stations for the kiddos.
Suggested scone was great.
Iced Honey Lavendar latte to go was also on point.
10/10 would return.
