Coming from out of town (from the northeast!), I am not always sure where to go to acquire a drink and sit back in a good atmosphere. I stumbled into Flanagans, where I found myself in a sanctuary – a place where time slowed down, worries politely waited outside, and every glass felt like it was poured with encouragement rather than measurement. A local recommendation and my expectations were completely blown away.
The bar hums with personality and the stools wobble just enough to keep you present in the moment, a hallmark of aged character. The drinks arrived with quiet authority. The custom cocktails did not beg for approval. They knew who they are: each sip a reassurance of one of the greatest choices I have made while traveling to New Albany/Columbus.
The staff operated with supernatural awareness. They were attentive, but not overbearing. They listened and chatted, without overshadowing. I watched them float around the room, taking note of everybody’s orders and promptly returning to fulfill their requests.
This place is a local GEM. I realized that I was not just at a bar. I was at a refuge, a checkpoint, a place where I did not feel rushed and I was perfectly content being present at Flanagans. I cannot wait to be back one day.

Service was amazing, went by myself, but staff was truly on their game. Multiple staff members took care of me and made sure I did not go without or have an empty beer.
Got the big Ruben sandwich (there are two) and it was huge!! I could barely finish half the sandwich. Fries were a little soggy and slightly salty, but portions were generous and the sandwich made up for it.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the private room at Flanagan’s Pub. Our family gathered there following my dad’s funeral to celebrate his life, and from the moment we arrived, we were met with compassion, warmth, and incredible service.
Crystal truly went above and beyond for us. She kept the drinks flowing, shared smiles and laughs, and treated our family with such genuine kindness during a very emotional evening. She made herself available for every request and handled everything so gracefully. And I have to mention — her music playlist was absolutely spot on. It created the perfect atmosphere for us to remember my dad, share stories, and be together.
The GM also checked on us several times throughout the night, which meant so much. At the end of the evening, she even jumped in to help us pack up our personal items and provided to-go containers so we could divide up the leftover desserts. That level of care and attentiveness is rare.
And the food was fantastic! We had a great spread — fresh salad, warm pretzel logs with beer cheese, pizzas, boneless wings, chips and salsa, and raw veggies — and everything was delicious. There was something for everyone, and guests kept commenting on how good it all was.
We walked in grieving and heartbroken, but Crystal, the GM, and the rest of the Flanagan’s staff made us feel comfortable, supported, and truly welcomed. If you’re looking for a private space for any gathering — especially one that requires a little extra heart — I highly recommend Flanagan’s Pub. They helped turn a difficult day into a meaningful and memorable evening for our family.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating – allowing us to move to the other side of the restaurant (where no one was sitting) so that we didn’t have to be near crying children. We have 3 kids and get it, but this was a little break from ours… so we were wanting a quieter evening. Heather T. was our server and she was just wonderful — she gave us some recommendations on the menu and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back!

Flanigans smack in the middle of the snotty nose rich area of columbus. The bar is top notch that old school hole in the wall that goes the extra mile. Crystal is the best bartender. Food is fantastic. And frankly I will drag friends and family to enjoy the atmosphere. If you are looking for a downtown experience dont go. If you are looking for a legendary hole in the wall you found it. 10/10 will come back for ever.

Stopped into this pub for casual drinks with friends and family and ended up having one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time, all thanks to the bartender, Veronica! She was so attentive, friendly, and made us all feel very welcome, while serving up some yummy cocktails! And the pizza is delicious!!

We came on a Saturday evening and listened to some live music. The back patio is great, the staff ladies are friendly, and the pickle pizza (14″ with white sauce, pickles, thin crust) was a terrific treat!

I enjoy stopping at Flanagan’s on Sundays with my family. Very day that we see Zach & Crystal is a great day!
If a draft is out, they’re quick to come up with a taste to replace it. Crystal is a flipping ray of sunshine and Zach is always on top of everything like he owns the joint himself. They both take pride in what they do. And it’s reflected in their service. We have fun!
Some of my favorite aps: fried cheese curds, chips and fresh salsa, fried portobello, the mini burgers, and the Irish eggrolls. For mains, I usually go for the breakfast plate or the fish and chips. But sometimes I’ll grab a Ruben or an Italian sub.

Great casual meal. Our server Veronica was awesome. She made great menu suggestions for me, a picky eater, and she was super attentive and prompt keeping up with needed water refills and more!

I hate to do this but it is about time someone said something. My family and I have been coming here for years. We are local to the area. This place is just not “it” anymore. The cost of this frozen food has become outrageous. We stopped in tonight. The burgers were so well done and dry that we had to cover it with ketchup just to get it down. Fries were cold. App was hot on the outside and frozen in the middle still. The service was slow per usual. It was terrible. This is why others that have been regulars here have started to head to Gatsbys instead. It’s a dirty, expensive, low quality and poorly run establishment. Not like a cool “dirty” like a dive bar normally is. Just dirty. The menu stuck to my palms. Be better.
