One of the best sushi experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The sushi was fresh and legit—no shortcuts. Even the California roll had real crab, no fake stuff, no BS. Everything tasted clean and well-made. The service really stood out too. Our server, Jeramy, was fast, genuinely happy, and super friendly—made the whole experience better without being over the top. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

I don’t know why I didn’t leave a review sooner! We’ve been a regular here at Flamin’ Pho & Sushi Bar three years ago while we were living in downtown, and we haven’t had a chance to go back until today, but we are so glad we did. We saw Sabrina, who’s been a familiar face when we used to come here on a weekly basis, and it was always a good sign that shows how much the business cares about their staff! She welcomed us graciously and when I gave her pictures of our previous go-to orders (I had forgotten their names), she stated them right away in the blink of an eye.
We ordered the Salmon Sunrise Roll, Cherry Blossom Roll, Saigon Spicy Chicken, and we were immediately taken back to nostalgic times because the quality remained impeccable and delicious! We moved to Kearny Mesa where there is an endless array of Japanese and Asian restaurants and have tried them all, but we kept craving Flamin’ Pho, and we were so satisfied with our meal. I’m very glad we came back and everything was perfect as we remembered it.
Our server Hayley helped us out at the end, and she was such a friendly and bubbly waitress that I felt like we have known each other for a longer time! We chatted about the many legitimate Japanese treats at the front of the restaurant for sale and her time in Japan, and I couldn’t help but think that the service here and the food was top-notch.
Keep it up, Flamin’ Pho & Sushi Bar! We will make the trek and come back for sure!
P.S. their draft beers are so delicious and cold and are available in pitchers! Cheers!

The taste is just okay. I got a banh mi and although I liked the nontraditional spicy creamy sauce they added to it, it didn’t have any pickled flavor. My group also got sushi and it was average. The presentation of the sushi was nice. We came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty, but service still took a long time to get our food out. Probably didn’t have many people working on Sundays.

It was a great place to take my girlfriend who wanted pho and I wanted sushi. The waiter was kind and very helpful with our questions about the meals. Since we went around valentines we received a heart shaped mochi and it was delicious. 10/10 would love to come back here again

Great food, at least everything we tried was beyond expectations.
If pressed our minor nitpicks would be slightly overeager service, thick cut over spicy chili with the pho lacking the delicacy of the genuine deal, veg pho we ordered with beef stock came with veg stock regardless, and too much needless single use plastic.
A solid spot, thumbs up.
