Pork chop – paired with mashed sweet potatos and brussel sprouts. Pork chop was decent, but had a section that could not be cut or eaten (no, not the bone). The brussel sprouts were marinated in a really sweet sauce, and the sweet potatoes would make fudge taste salty or compared. I could eat neither.
Wings with a side of brussel sprouts – wings were good (extra money for celery and carrots), but the brussel sprouts were also marinated in sugar. Brussels were also reheated not freshly cooked.
Service was a little slow, but everything was topped up/refreshed in a timely manner. My beef is that our server automatically upgraded my pork chop dish to two chops (extra $). There was no mention of two during the ordering and the server didn’t confirm that I ordered 2. Maybe a common mistake, but it didn’t sit well.
They have reduced the menu, are cooking lesser quality food and the cook is just earning a paycheck. This place should hire the guy on TV who fixes the restaurant’s menu and cooking quality.
Short – we will not be going back until there is a big change in their offering and experience.
The crème brûlée was very good. The carrot cake was good but way way too big!
The service was very lacking, 20 min after being seated our drink order was taken, 20 min later we got our drinks. Most to the wrong people who after tasting had to swap drinks….thank goodness for straws.
We were there over an hour before our appetizer order was taken, dinner order was taken 5 min later.
Now for the food. The baked potato butter only was an under baked, butterflied with drawn butter poured over it that was so undercooked you couldn’t mash it.
The broccoli was about the same, I eat plain broccoli but if it’s supposed to be steamed, steam it till it’s done.
Now for the $50 steak. I don’t mind a $50 steak, I enjoy a $25 steak at a chain, I’ve had $90 steaks from Tampa to Vegas.
What I don’t like is a $9.99 dinner special steak from a chain breakfast diner that I’m being charged $50 for.
If you can’t cook it rare it’s because you got it from Sysco, Cheney bros or Gordon pre cooked grill marks and all, and it’s impossible to heat it up without over cooking it. These absolutely identical steaks probably come frozen, get thawed then reheated before serving. Terrible steak no matter the cost.
Mine was ordered rare, came out medium. Another ordered medium rare and came out well done.
These
Ribeyes were half an inch thick at that and not good.
This is one of the worst experiences I’ve had in years, literally years.
Go walk on some peanut shells or get called mate and have a steak that is 10X better, cooked correctly, with flavor at half the price and someone will get you a drink minutes after you’re seated.
Tableside guac is an excellent choice as it’s fresh and can be made to taste. The salad is also fresh and a nice compliment to any dinner.
The Ribeye is a tender, quality cut and had a perfect char while being cooked to my requested medium rare. The mushrooms make for the perfect choice of an upgrade to the standard sides. The mashed potato, perfect in texture and consistency with that occasional red skin to love mixed in.
For desert, any choice is likely a good choice. Fabulous experience. And my new favorite mid level steakhouse in the Tampa Bay area.
Last night, we sat in the dining room at table 31 and Nicole was out server, Nicole is a true professional. We have had a wonderful experience both times. I have noticed the staff appears to be clean and professional.
I number one look for cleanliness at a restaurant and I would say from what I could tell. This restaurant is truly clean. I’m excited we found a new place to eat.
