Well they’re one of the nicer Jamaican restaurants I’ve been to so that tells you what you need to know about the food. Very mid. Oxtail wasn’t strongly favored & a bit tough. Didn’t fall off the bone. Like they ran out and made more quickly. (Explains why she was generous with the sauce) Don’t bother with dessert. 1 word: dry. Rice & peas were fine. Cabbage fine too. My companion had cow foot and that was pretty good. So I gave food 2 stars
Others who recommended it to me they’ve gone regularly and it’s usually good. So maybe this was just a bad day.

This was a very disturbing experience! $25 dollars for oxtail dinner and all I got was a few pieces of meat on bones. Not to add that there was no fried dumplings NEVER. I gay customer service 2 stars because they do not accept apple pay, as I’m about to walk out, they then all of a sudden took apple pay, and then try to chastise me as if I’m a child to say, next time.Don’t let it happen again. She doesn’t have to worry about that best

I’ve been to flames Jamaican restaurant before this one is the worst. The rice was soft you couldn’t taste the coconut in the rice and beans the cabbage was undercooked not seasoned. The meat had no flavor. The service was poor. I will never come back here. Disgusting. I’ve been to Jamaica seven times. The chicken taste like it was cooked in old oil I know Reel Jamaican foods and this isn’t it this is not cooked with love.

If you’re craving authentic Jamaican cuisine, look no further than Flames Jamaican Restaurant. I find myself ordering takeout here at least three times a week, and it’s always a treat! My go-to is the large King Fish with rice and beans—it’s absolutely delicious every single time.
For breakfast, I love starting my day with a small bowl of their Jamaican cornmeal porridge. It’s the perfect way to kick off the morning. And when I’m in the mood for something spicy, their boiled green banana with callaloo never disappoints.
The quality of food is consistently outstanding, but what truly sets Flames apart is their exceptional staff.
Wayne, in particular, deserves a special shoutout. Despite what might be going on in his personal life, he always greets you with a smile and great service.
Wayne’s hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed, and it makes every visit that much better.
If you haven’t yet tried Flames Jamaican Restaurant, do yourself a favor and give them a visit—you won’t regret it!

Found some leftover rice and peas in my families refrigerator while visiting and was sooo good! So made my own way over!
Food: cafeteria style prepared hot bar, however the food all looked and tasted hot and fresh! Obviously got the rice and beans with sweet and spicy chicken with the extra sauce poured over! Love the sauce and rice combo! Would order just that. Cabbage was good as well. Large portion. Plate pictured with a drink and coco bread was $20! Fed 2!
Restaurant: small seating area inside. Of note, no public bathrooms even with food purchase

If i could give negative starts, i wouod. The music was blasting so loud, youbcant here the employees talking. The food was horrible. The oxtails were undercooked wity very little meat on them. The proportion was minimal at best. The rice had a burnt taste, the employee slopped the food in the trey, actes like he had an attitude and kept walking away in the middle of me ordering. He basically threw my food into the bag and the cheese cake that i ordered, he put into my bag upside down which caused all of the topping to stick to the lid and the cheese cake was very warm which caused me to be afraid ti eat it. The foid wasnt worth giving to an animal. Even though i pain good money, i threw it into the garbage instead of risking getting sick. They are like night and day compared to the other Flames resturant, which was amazing. I ended up at this one by mistake but decided to give them a try. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

Customer service was good but they were literally the worse oxtails I ever had, so rubbery and absolutely no flavor and the carrot cake was nasty too. They need a grandma to cook the food or some it was horrible. I want my 33 dollars back! And it’s 2026 everybody take Tap Pay ! So why they don’t is beyond me 🙁

I love the place and the food but I happen to call there this morning 2 times and the man hang up on me. And it’s more than one time I find that to be very disrespectful. I can understand if there busy and he ask me to hold. I wish they would have more options for lunch like boiled yam, banana ,dumpling and vegetables because there are so many people don’t eat rice.

Re: SALT MACKEREL / Breakfast
I NEVER go to the Morton street location but on 27Jan I could not get breakfast from Grovehall because they were only serving lunch, they opened 10am.
WHOEVER cooked the Salt Mackerel needs to go to Grove hall and get training. It was HORRIBLE! I knew something was wrong when the cashier stated to share it because the piece were in chunks.
It was VERY OILY, LACKED FLAVOR, it had a rawness to it. For $15 I received about 4 pieces and the rest was some big carrots & peppers.
The fried dumplings were extremely oily as well.
Unacceptable!
