Favorite dishes: steaks, salmon, shrimp.
High quality meal and very reasonable prices.
One of the few restaurants in town without blaring music or TVs.
They don’t accept Apple Pay so be sure to bring your actual credit card.

Steaks, burgers, and meals were all delicious and not overly salty. The steak is better than Texas Roadhouse.

Get a taste of Ames local Flame and Skewer. Located in the mall, north of town across from Cookies, etc. Pop in for a small, family owned restaurant experience. The food was great! Both of us had the euro meal, which is their specialty. We were given fresh fries, a hot peta, and plenty of euro meet. This is not your average sports bar in town. It is quiet and relaxed, good for families.

It was food. The steak was not medium rare. It was basically just edible. There was not a trace of seasoning nor love put into the food. :/

The gyro was fantastic! I was also a fan of the quietness of the environment. Certainly a great place to stop at if you’re in Ames.

There were 2 shrimp shell pieces mixed in with my fries. Unfortunately I didn’t see the pieces until I had eaten most of my food. I had a patty melt and my partner had a gyro so there was absolutely no reason for shrimp to have come in contact with our food in any capacity. It felt like an allergy hazard and it was definitely off-putting to the point where I didn’t finish my food. Also a random guy was walking around the restaurant asking if we ate which was confusing because they were in gym shorts and a baseball cap and no apron or uniform to indicate that they were in any way affiliated with the restaurant. Just a very bizarre experience. On the plus side, our waitress was very kind, and the service was fast.

It’s nice to have a sit down option for good food in the mall, though we would follow Mo no matter where he went. Mo’s Friday night prime rib dinner, the ribeyes, fried shrimp, chicken tortilla soup are all good but so are the burgers, French dips and taco salads are yummy too.

We have been going since my husband worked there years and years ago. It’s more than ac restaurant as it is a family.
