My family came down after driving 9hours and we met them here. It was passed 9:30 and the person working there (I believe the owner) was working on our food even if they had already closed he was so extremely sweet and friendly to us all. He even put tables together for us. Such a great person. You really do feel welcome. Did take a bit since he was alone. Still worth it and he worked so hard on our food. Even gifted my baby a juice for waiting and gifted drinks to us. Such a sweet sweet person.

Small, family run spot. The exact green flag you think it is. Very fresh and great portions and prices. I don’t like the texture of raw fish, so I always look for cooked rolls. Their Vegas roll is fried and sooooo good and so filling. Each time I get to eat one of their rolls, I can tell it was made with care. It’s the closest experience I’ve had to feeling like I’m eating a loved one’s food at a restaurant. The gentleman who I think owns the restaurant is always there and so kind. I love this place. Almost don’t wanna hit “post” because I want to gatekeep wait times can be longer than estimated when picking up, but it’s so no biggie. Easily worth it. Just plan for it and be kind to them <3

The food and service were amazing. It’s only the owners who are working so service is a bit slow but they are so kind and sweet. They apologized for not speaking English well but even with their broken English, they are patient and communicate well!!
I’m a salmon lover and their sushi is so fresh and delicious – no fishy smell/taste at all! Huge portions and they do not skimp on the fish. The menu and ordering tablet needs descriptions for each menu item.
The place is new so the interior doesn’t have much decoration and is a bit echoey but I imagine it’ll improve as they gain popularity.
The location is very nice! It’s right on campus off of speedway and park – right below the apartments on park. They also offer Bingsu which I have to go back and try. Please give them a try and review them, I don’t want such a good authentic place to go out of business 🙂

Amazing fresh sushi at an affordable price. As some other reviews mention, there is one very kind sushi chef working hard to make all the orders so expect a wait (as you would have at any other fresh sushi restaurant) The wait is definitely worth it tho! So tasty and the fish seemed super high quality. Will definitely be going back and am excited to try the bingsu! Thank you so much for the yummy sushi!

Flakes has high quality, affordable, and fresh sushi among other things. It’s a favorite of mine and I love it. It’s just the owner working here, so please expect a small wait. This wait is worth it, I promise.

Terrible sushi! And the way you order on the kiosk is terrible. I don’t know HOW this place gets good reviews. I guess because on campus you have no other choices. I ordered a bunch of sushi and a roll and he questioned my order. I ended up throwing most of it away.

Drove all the way there and although their posted hours said open 5 to 830pm, their closed sign is up with no indication of why at 5:17pm.
Shortly after, a man came to the door and opened up, stating he was getting fresh ingredients they were out of.
Preparation took a little longer than expected, yet appreciate the fresh ingredients.
Inside has limited seating and a little weird decor.
Everything was amazing, though! From the crab rangoons to sushi rolls to miso soup. Definitely will be back!!
