this place never dissapoints. the lighting is really good at lunchtime too. i got the tomato bisque because i am a couple days post wisdom tooth removal (which had a good flavor), but honestly could have gotten the basil + tuna fried rice. the tuna was so soft and cooked perfectly and the rice was tasty. the fries that come with sandwiches and burgers are on par . what surprised me the most was the calamari and the lava cake. specifically the cake was so soft and easy to eat and was a perfect way to “wash” down the meal. there are lots of gluten free options.

This is an upscale restaurant with an eclectic menu. I had the lasagna and was mildly disappointed. I expected it to have more flavor.

Our server never checked on us until we finished our meal.

I do want to return at some point to try different menu items.

despite our original intention of going to tarantini, we were directed here by the owner because they were overbooked and oh my gosh: this was some of the best food I’ve had in my life. not to mention, the decor was very cozy and homey. shown below is the lamb shank risotto and the herb chicken milanese and gnocchi. the lamb fell straight off the bone and was the softest meat I’ve had in my life. the risotto was creamy (as promised) and the pesto gnocchi came with a piece of fried chicken, along with burrata which was an interesting combo that turned out to be tasty. not pictured but tasted was the classis burger with fries, lasagna, and ragu special. the burger had an insane patty that somehow was still juicy and tasty. the fries were crispy AND they were salted as fries should be. summary:

UPDATE: Came back for dinner and had the blackened salmon with mushroom risotto! Oh yeah! this dish was perfected done. (My friends had the seafood risotto and the lasagne, we all enjoyed our meals! Would highly recommend, and we sat in a back room – we could all hear our wonderful conversation) Older review: Wonderful brunch with friends, I had the fried green tomatoes (wish I had ordered them without the melted pimento cheese – it was too much) but the tomato bisque with basil oil was so good. The service is quite good, try to ask for a seat away from the door – it was constantly opening as a member of the staff kept going outside (it was in the 30’s).

Wonderful place ! I will be sure to come back to try different dishes. I went to a birthday celebration and everything was excellent. The staff, the food, and ambience. I ordered the delicious Tomato Bisque, Asian Salad with Shrimp and omg the DELICIOUS Lava Cake with a cappuccino. 100 % recommended!

Good restaurant in Governors Village. The atmosphere is great and the patio is very nice. They do have heaters for the patio and the staff were exceedingly accommodating. The cocktails are wicked good here. Food is tasty, but not quite on par with Hawthorne & Wood which is why this is more like a 4.5 star rating. Food is also a bit heavy so have an appetite when you go. Definitely worth a trip.

A popular spot for Governor’s Club crowd, but worth the drive from Chapel Hill. Varied menu that is usually complemented by several daily specials makes it easy to find something for everyone. Service is always excellent, and a strong winelist for the Vinophile.

Flair is, like Tarantini, one of the best restaurants you’d go in the area. From the service to the food, everything is too quality, like, very top quality. Places like this one are rare and we are very lucky to have it in our town. Visit them, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

My girlfriends and I came her for our burger club. (Yes, all females burger club – no boys allowed.) The menu looked soooo good though! A variety of liquors and wines to choose from. Their cocktail list has quite the tasty flavors too! We had 2 and they were both delicious. I also had a glass of the CS Cab – the taste was just the perfect touch for alongside a burger. Our burgers? YUM. First off, they actually cook their meat to what you request. My protein was cooked to a perfect medium rare. They were also so delicious! I was very tempted to order a second burger just because I wanted to try all of them since they all sounded so good! We got the chocolate lava cake which was also quite yummy. I would definitely recommend coming here (I plan to return with my husband). Also, you’d be supporting 2 beautiful Brazilian women that own this place! (Which we need more female-owned places.)
